Can An Adjustable Top Hat Provide Tank Dump Resistance?
I’m interested in running a 15″ .177 LW barrel on my TalonP (with home machined barrel bushings). I’m currently happy with the gun’s 25 caliber performance with my OEM barrel and the OEM top hat set at .100″ with a #10 o-ring, which provides .030″ of gap to the o-ring. From the forums here, I’ve learned that an o-ring helps with a .177 barrel and tank dumps. Would the smallest restrictor in Tony’s adjustable top hat further help to reduce the likelihood of a tank dump? I also have a 17-1/2″ 22 cal. LW barrel that I could fit-up.
Can someone also please tell me what the adjustable top hat gap would be? Given that the gap would no longer be adjustable, I’m interested in what I’d have to work-with when using an o-ring too.
Thanks much for the info!

Thanks, onebaddj! I’ll definitely look for your posts with the insert velocity data. Looks like the 22 will be my next barrel on this gun.
