Q:

Athlon Helios 6-24×50 FFP APLR2 MOA IR

Hell of a long title I know. I made my way to this scope after reading the thread started by knife maker about the Athlon Argos of equal power. As luck would have it a supervisor at my place of employment had the Argos mounted on his .223 AR build.
After some first-hand observations I was hooked the glass was far better than I had seen on previous Optics especially at the higher Zoom range like 24x
I however decided to step it up a notch to the helios model after realizing that it had locking turrets and a side Focus Mount rheostat which I found to be more appealing.
I just managed to get it mounted and leveled and am now out to sight it in. I tossed in a few pics and I will do some more review after sighting in the Vulcan.
Also worth noting is the steroid turrets on the Helos
model. All questions of audible clicking have been cast aside on this model these turrets are large and have very precise tactical clicks.
More to come

I went with Burris 8X40X50 with the 34mm tube. I have been a Burris junkie ever since I went to CST gunsmithing in 1989 and the college got us 30% from Burris for two scopes.

I’ll have to buy another rifle to buy and Argos or Midas.

very nice, but bullpups handle much better with small light scopes.

when you have such a tall setup, it will want to fall over to the side no?
should have got the large moderator. that one works.

been there, done that. ended up with a small light scope. closer to the bore too.
a lot better.

I have been disappointed with the moderator and I was considering an upgrade. On the topic of scopes however .. I feel we too different paths. If you notice my profile pic I had an MTV Viper Connect sweet lol scope and did suit the gun well. Next was a primary arms 4-14×44 .. In the end I wanted FFP, superb glass and high zoom ability.

Still plenty light and maneuverable for this guy. I was considering my lowest rings tho but the reach forward is great when filming.

Hmmm, I was looking at the Argos too. The Helios looks nice too. But thinking I might get the Burris XTR II in 5x325x50 which has a 34mm body. It’ll $1400 Canadian, but It’ll be one of the last scopes i “Have” to buy!
