I think this new .25 Mutant Shorty is going to end up being one of the best guns’ on the market . At first I really wanted it ,
but I already have two very quiet guns . (1) a Talon SS with both .22 cal. and .25 cal. barrels , (2) a .25 cal. Vulcan with
Donneys’ 7 5/8″ LDC and makes my gun extremely quiet and backyard friendly . I realized after several years of shooting PCP
guns what I truly want would be two PCP guns . (1) a semi-auto either in .22 or .25 cal. that would be dead on at least to 75
yards and shot count for me doesn’t matter and I want it to be a small short gun as possible . (2) next would also be a small
short gun but in .30 cal. single shot , repeater , even better a semi-auto even if it only had a five shot capacity that would
be dead on out to 150 yards or better . :4: :4:

The hard truth is now out…the Veteran Shorty is shooting .25 calibers at 900 fps out of the box. Don’t ask me how…it just does. Today I spoke with a dealer that had one and found that he tuned his down to 880 fps just for shits and giggles! When’s the last time you had to tune a pcp out of the box to a lower fps? Yes…I know, probably all of you! But I am different in many ways.
Now the bad news….it’s 1/4″ longer than the Mutant Shorty. That’s one fourth inch for those of you who are not math inclined.
I say “THE HELL WITH IT!!!” I can live with another quarter of an inch in length, just have to adjust my hold!

550 FPS max, dam I can throw a rock almost that fast.
I am hopping 700 FPS minimum , If its 700 + :smilen: :smilen: :smilen:
Anything lower and I will be looking at a standard barrel, Or a 10 shot super tune from an expert.
I am just going to have to hurry up and wait to see.

Just an update, knumbnutts…be certain to notify us when the .25 Shorty arrives. I am very curious as to whether it is simply a breech/barrel change out, with a resultant 550 FPS max velocity…or whether the reg/valve was also modified (which I kind of doubt) to wring out max performance from that short barrel.
Don’t get me wrong…needle-dick, I have a pcp pistol that shoots .22’s at 550 fps, and at the 100-150 foot max pistol range it is a genuine bitch-slapping tool!
A .25 Shorty has the potential to present itself in a number of ways: 1) Kinda what we expected 2) Better than we expected, but nothing to write my girlfriend about 3) Maxed to the limit, what I was hoping for!
A lot of us are waiting to see which model you get…best of luck, I hope it’s as good as the smaller calibers!

I agree the Mutant is a lot of gun for the money, There is a reason they sell out, and you do not find many used Mutants for sale.
Accuracy , lightness, and a super trigger, = Mutant, What more you want, Sorry I do not want full auto……
