Q:

LEBANESE BENCHREST DOMINATED BY BULLPUPS. VULCAN/EDGUN WIN.

Chtaura Country Club has organised its spring benchrest competition in Bekaa valley, Lebanon on sunday 28th of May 2017.

3 categories where set:

-50 meters (55yards) .177/.22 calibers. 2 rounds and 6 best scores competed in a final round.

-75 meters (82 yards) open to all calibers. 2 rounds and 6 best scores competed in a final round.

-Speed silhouette shooting (30,40,50,60 Meters targets X 5)

All major brands where represented, mainly Fx (royale, boss, impact) , Daystate, Raw, Cometa, Kalibrgun, Vulcan, and Edgun.

Extremely tough conditions with very variable and strong winds from 10-15 Mph all day long. Holding for 4-5 mildots of windage was frequent.

Shooter Yves Sehnaoui has won both categories, medium range 50 Meters with Edgun Matador R3M .22 long and jsb/edgun 18gr pellets, along with 75 Meters long range with Vulcan .25 shooting jsb king heavies MKII 34gr.

Dory Mahfoud won the speed silhouette event with ease, using his Edgun Matador R3M .22, followed by Elie Chaanine (RAW .22) and Fadi Chami (Vulcan .25).

Excellent results for these Vulcan and Edgun bullpups in a fierce competition against specialized benchrest rifles ! A rare event that should be promising for the future of those rifles, initially intended for hunting purposes only.

Thanks to all organizers and participants.

Looking forward to the next event!

Doktor Kar.

If I can find a bus that goes to Lebanon from Toad Suck, Arkansas…I’ll be there to participate!!!

Keep us posted. Air guns in the U.S. are just getting a good start. I’ll bet there are more privately owned AR-15 assault rifles in America than there are residents! Someday those shooters will discover it’s way quieter to have fun with a high powered pcp bullpup than blasting away with a 30 round .223 powder burner, and every bit as accurate.

If I were Ed I would … …. Do one thing but do it right.

Yeah :8:

Just like the Matador single shot (and if he is able, improve the trigger :8: …)

If I were Ed I would just stay in bullpup/ultra short pistol/rifle business. Do one thing but do it right.

It was but Ed mentioned about a NEW gun for benchrest.

Benchrest shooters shooting Matadors in competition instead of Moranas IMHO means only one thing, Morana’s accuracy sucked.

Probably it’s the reason why it has been discontinued (at least it’s no longer listed on the website).

Honestly shouldering the gun was awkward to me and the trigger wasn’t a competition trigger, so hopefully the NEW benchrest gun will do better.

…Hope to present a new gun in 2018 for such shooting 🙂 …

Wasn’t the Morana designed for benchrest?

I wish I was there! Good for you to make the competitions like that. Hope to present a new gun in 2018 for such shooting 🙂 Saw some familiar faces on the photo 🙂

Focus Ed! How’s the Lelya 2.0 coming along?

Cool competition… Matador is good tool for air sniping 🙂

Ed, please bring us something in .30 cal!
