Q:

The Long Bullpup?

Guys,

Most of you already know I am all on the trolling for the new Veteran, just in the Long. Not much on it far as a time frame in which it appears. 🙁

Doing some googling on the big W, found one that is a longer version of what has been out and it’s a high power or hp version… That is what I didn’t like about the first Pulsar was the lack of power.

Daystate has the Pulsar now in a hp version. I would only be interested in the .22 caliber, but its also in .25 and .30

The info on this is quite limited at best but, as I expected a bullpup in a Long version would be able to be a true 50 ft/lb class in .22; least that is what I read on it.
With a long barrel of 23″, you should be able to do 50 ft pounds easy enough I would think. At any rate this new hp Pulsar in the black synthetic is:

35″ oal
8.3 pounds
23″ barrel
300cc tank

Has some looks to it!!! Like the level at the back of the optics rail for canting while working out logistics of a long range poi… Nothing really new here, its just that it’s already on go, right from the box 🙂 I like that…

The price on this rifle is typical Daystate, which I get…
Its over 2k in US dollars. If its what they say it is and user friendly, would be something I would consider 🙂

I have some concerns with all that. The electronic trigger being one, in its ability to be dialled up and down in the energy levels? I know they say it has the three power levels, just doesn’t quite do it for me there. How bout some fine tuning features or abilities???

There in it’s self is all my issues with these electronic arms, do they allow for fine tuning of like the 3 power ranges? Surely they allow the fine tuning of the trigger?
They sure don’t say much about that sort of stuff.

Their airwolf rifles have a following. Seem to do things right for them anyway. Just would like more info on the Pulsar hp in these matters.

Then, is this rifle built sound? The adjustable cheek weld, in how it slides back and forth; is that something you can actually use? Now to me that is an area and a item that could be just added on to “sale”! It does look nice and how it slides, its just begging the question for me to ask, is it a quality made feature and one you can use or is this something Rowdy would have to make right if I bought one???

Then the rail and its bubble level. What really detailed pic’s I saw of the rail, it just had the look of stamped out material and that leads me to the questions, these pieces all fit nice and tight; Right??? That sort of stuff usually doesn’t… Its usually half a$$ed at best and the fit up can be poor from one rifle to the next. NOT GOOD

That would be an area I might not be so pleased with also and yet again, Rowdy might have to build a new solid billet rail and have to figure how to affix it???

I could be way wrong here, all these concerns may be nothing at all. I just can’t tell from the lack of info and pics.

Anyone here have one of these??? Or, maybe had their paws on one, maybe even shot one? I want a true 50 pound class .22 bullpup that you can run the energy level up and down so as to use the mass selection of the different pellets and their weight…

Now I understand that it’s very unlikely its going to shoot that many pellets really well, but I still like the ability to adjust it if I ever wanted to… Over 2k $$$ I would be expecting these sorts of things.

Any other Longs out there already to consider guys?
.22 caliber bullpup design, something under 38″ oal and with a magazine and needs to have a good trigger!!! The trigger of most of the air rifles leaves a lot to be desired for me, but hey I am Rowdy!

Mike,
I know exactly what you are saying, don’t worry. The Veteran already has me, now if I can just get my long from those guys I will have it.

This thread is to see just what others have or know something out there to share. As this Huben that was mentioned. Its a good looking rifle also. Accuracy and the trigger issues I would have to fix…

They would have to send me two of them to start with and I would just see what it takes to make those two issues go away. Then see what we actually have…

Then you mentioned China made products, heck my lathe I have, its from China. Its not so bad, not great mind you, but its ok.
I want to get me a compressor also, they have some of those also. That is another good topic all on its own too. I have no idea what to get for one of those either.

None of these are inexpensive either, least a good one. I don’t want a cheap one I have to work on all the time either. It’s not that I can’t, I would just rather just use it and I shoot my air rifles 🙂

Rowdy
Really watch the china stuff, I do not think China has perfected the PCP guns,
Now I do have a TX 200 china copy and my P17s are from china But we are talking 100 dollars and 25 dollars .
Now I could be DEAD wrong, But where I am not wrong is laying down 1,500 for a china gun
when you can have a Veteran for 1295 is plan CRAZY,,,,,

I have watched several video’s on this version 2 and it is coming around, but seems there are some concerning questions I have…

The first for me is accuracy and that appears to need some help!

Second the trigger sounds like it needs as much help as the barrel and its accuracy. Guys that is two big strikes for me.

Now I never saw it to fail cycling the semi auto portion, but I have that question in the back of my mind, when they are trying to shoot that rifle ad hard as they are.

I love the fact you can shoot 1200 fps or more, huge points from me on this, its .22 cal and its 19 round magazine. Awesome, but not very accurate and trigger not very adjustable is a big hit for such a neet looking rifle that appears to have lots going for it.

The accuracy is a barrel issue plain and simple, then back the speed down to 950 with the 21 gr. Kodiac Match and they should tack drive. Same with the EJ’s, those 28gr. shoot great as well and either of these two pellets flat out cut one ragged hole from my Rapid mkII when I set it up anywhere around 950-1050fps from my 23″ and change barrel.

They get that setup like that and they got a winner. I just keep asking myself if they are trying to keep the pre-chamber pressure up trying to shoot all those 30 plus grain pellets, if there is a cycling issue not being mentioned here on the videos on it???

It appears to have great shot count from what was mentioned. If that is the issue, being a cycling issue, that’s an easy fix, swap the barrel, for .25 New wider magazine for longer pellets in the .25 size and setup the rifle to shoot some of Jerry’s ringed slugs. Problem solved.
Jerry’s slugs love the power that the Huben seems to have effortless… Hell even I would option for a .25 in that. Sure I would rather have a .22 but hey, if they have a pre-chamber pressure issue to make the rifle cycle, its a natural .25 and done.
I would love to take the rifle on and see if I could profile a barrel to get the .22 to get spot on with. Maybe even build an air stripper on it instead of what they have.

Its just a big price to get it and then rework the trigger, the barrel and whatever else that may need to be tweaked.
They send me two of these and let me rub my paws on them, I would be thrilled to help see what I need to do to put them on the paper as well as a nice clean breaking trigger…
Heck once figured out, these guys would have it!!! The rest of this rifle that I can see is awesome…

I thought I posted this here yesterday…

Uooo!

Me don’t know anything about that one, do tell; or post a hyper link to some big W from where to read about it plz… 🙂

Now this 70 pounds, this in the .22 size, maybe with the 25.4 heavy or what? You have my undivided… And things for sharing…

Huben K1 Ver 2? Adjustable up to 70 FPE methinks…
