Dont forget the breech seals, LOL

I was following up the testing I began in this thread http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2910

I had removed the center bushing, reinstalled the barrel and began shooting.

First 2 pellets in same hole, 3rd about a half inch to the left, 4th one inch low…WTF? 5th one inch to left. I beginning to wonder about my messing with the bushings, maybe should have left it alone.

Back inside, reinstall the middle bushing, back outside. 2 – 3 inch groups, POI all over the place. Again, WTF?

Back inside, put 2 original bushings back in original place, outside to shoot.

2 inch groups again, but this time I notice something I have never felt before, a puff of air on my trigger finger.

Back inside, pull the barrel and inspect. Somewhere along my meddling, I created a small burr on the side of the breech end of the barrel.

I pulled the breech, and sure enough the tophat end of the breech has a torn o-ring. It was still freshly lubed, but torn from the burr on the barrel.

When Tony shipped my barrel and hammer, he included some new o-rings but I never installed them. Now was the time.

20 minutes later, new o-rings, breech deburred, fresh silicone on seals and 3 barrel bushings, ( I know, too many variables LOL) I’m back outside shooting.

.221 inch 5 shot group at 40 yards. I say “God Damn”!!

I remember reading about leaking seals causing poor accuracy from you guys. Now I believe.

I think I’m going to stop messing with the gun, Its happy now.
