anyone adjust the Reg. on the Veteran?
I think the .25 Veteran Shorty gives best efficiency and power at about 40fpe. Looking at my recent shot string it seems that the regulator could adjust down a little, think factory set is about 130bars, maybe 110bars would work well and keep more shots regulated. It seems to still shoot 40fpe off regulator down to about 100bars.
Using Benjamin domes, 27.8grain. at about 40fpe which is just about 805fps, regulated range is about 800-820fps.
So just done shooting and it goes 38 shots then increases about 10 to 20fps at a max of 840fps for about 7shoots then drops down to under 800fps by 50shots. So basically 50 usable shoots. 250bar to 150bar gets 30shots, by 50shots it is about 100bars or just under. So it looks like the regulator could be adjusted down a little to get more shots within the regulated range possibly 50 regulated shots…..not bad I would say.

I see ……. just my :2cents: but I’d wait up on tuning the reg until then.

Don’t know haven’t shot anything else but the Benji domes. Got several tins of those but only one of each king, king heavy, king heavy II. The harder alloy BD penetrates a little better for bigger critters. When I get the chance I’ll compare all of them.
Does the Benjamin domes out shoot JSB Kings with your Veteran ?

I’ve adjusted the reg. Took my .22 Vet Long from 133 bar up to 150 bar. With this adjustment, installing a stronger hammer spring and a port/polish on the firing-valve, it can now shoot the 25.39gr RD Monsters at 925 fps for 30 shots on a 250 bar fill. It can actually max out with the hammer spring at 945 fps but I dialed it back to 925 fps.
