Q:

Veles Pistol and squirrels

I must admit I can shoot a rifle OK but a pistol, not so much. Pistol marksmanship is such a perishable skill, and bad habits are tough to break. So With the desire to get better, I decided to take the “wolf” on a pest control mission. I was probably 1 for five, but I cannot blame the gun. The good thing is Ed’s silencer works so well I was able to get follow-up shots after my misses. In the end, I am no better with a pistol, but I had fun. Maybe I could vacation in Hawaii and GKU could teach me how to shoot properly :8:

quote keyser soze:

Greg, pardon my ignorance. Why does it have two different color air tubes?

No ignorance taken upon to someone that ask a question(s) in my book ……… just a red, white and blue thing a very very patriotically driven into being able to take this gun to its limit if you want to, a world competitive event.

I’m guessing …… but really, just so I can rotate and keep track between shooting sessions by sessions without thinking of looking at the end gauge of its fill …. empty or not…. I just shot out the blue one, so the red one is next.

The Morini will lock up the cocking lever when it’s at the end of its working fill pressure, u don’t want a low shot in competition.

:8: :8: :8:

Please don’t start to speak about the triggers….

Those are “Dream-Triggers” :8:

Pippo,

I’m very old school …… I never shot a pistol with two hands before ……. only one handed with 10m ISSF Air Pistol Olympic rules applied.

My Morini 162ei which I bought from the late Don Nygord.

My IIZY 46m, don’t see it for sale in the USA anymore, IDK ?

Sorry guys but for pistol precision shooting I’m old school…

Walther GSP or S&W Mod. 41 are my preferred tools (and those ones are meant to be shot one handed 😀 ) but I see your point.

Still old school but air pistols it would be FAS AP 604 or IZH-46M but I don’t know if those are known in the US, I’m speaking many years ago.

But Thanks for the info!

(And congrats Greg :8: )

.

I just found it Brian, my old shooting glasses …………

For some that don’t know the aperture is adjustable in such a way that it can make the depth of field so deep that when focusing on the front sight the target and the rear sight are ALL 3 in focus !

He was my shooting coach ……… way back.

wow Greg a Tin of Don Nygord pellets? You are an airgun pistol man…caught you

Man, don’t get me started on pistol shooting it’s the hardest to do correctly ….. takes years of dedication … at the end u still need some added work. Someone once said to me that the pistol was not intended nor designed to be shot with one hand.

At 10 meters the blackened area of this target is the width of your front sight.

RIP, Don ………

Pippo that is a fair question. I would say the answer is simply you want a pistol. No manner how compact the Leshiy is she is still a carbine. No doubt the Leshiy easier to shoot. But I do want to get better with a pistol. Veles lets me shoot 25 meters in my back yard. I don’t have to drive, wait in line and hear the constant blast of the guy shooting next to me. I use the Veles to practice combat pistol skills. That is how I got into airguns in the first place. I was using them to practice for firearms, in the end, I fell in love with airguns, and as a result, my collection of powder burners sees very little use.

What’s the reason that would make you choose a Veles over a Leshiy?

Just curious…..

.
Hum …….. nice setup !

a 22 I believe, it’s harder to shoot well compared to my 177s ……. but at the end of one’s day I’d say it’s the number of kills that counts the most !

And never mind about the vacation to Hawaii, spend some time making more great Utube airgun videos for us sickly waiting. :angrymob:

Brian, as u can see ….. I read all your posts too.
by the way, nice sh@@ing Sir !
