Q:

Tony, can you do a little custom work on a Taipan .25 ?

I’m interested in the gun and would like to have it tuned to -/+60 FPE

Also would like the scope rail/trigger unit moved back butting against the Action, of course the trigger linkage would need to be shortened accordingly,

Then I would like a longer shroud to cover the now longer exposed barrel,

I will do the work to either adapt the stock of make a new one.

Could you do this ?…..if not, do you know anybody that could take up this project ?

…Or anybody out there that reads this.

Thanks

I get this alright, but I still would like a long in .22 myself.
I do think we need a different barrel for this to take advantage of the 24″ barrel. At least from what the shorts and standards do for best accuracy @ just under 900fps
The long would improve on the shot count, just not so sure if we can get the speed I am wanting and still be accurate.
I have been so spoiled with the 24″ barrel on my Rapid mk2 , it really shoots extremely well @ speeds over 900 fps. Even with the larger pellets. This rifle is just not a bullpup, its one you shoot from the bench for the most part.

kinda sounds like you wanna make it into a rifle/carbine instead of a bullpup. There is a thread where Tony asked for folks input about the next version of the Taipan. I had suggested that they make a rifle/carbine version. I’d buy one in heart beat. Would also like 60+fpe too.

You 100% correct,

I would like to turn the Veteran .25 into a Mini-Carbine and I’ve been asking around and looks like it’s gonna be real easy,

since Tony never gave me a reply I have contacted a tuner in the West coast that is ready to go to work and do those minor modifications as soon as the gun comes back in stock
