Q:

Leshiy scopes and mounts

looking for ideas on scope and mounts for my Leshiy. I have a Bugbuster on for now, but I am looking for a better setup trying to stay compact as possible. Any ideas or what you are using would help.

What scope and mount is that in this photo?

Thanks!

Looks like a 1st gen vortex viper pst 1-4 in a Leopold IMS 1 piece mount.

Personslly I find 1-4x tactical scopes looking just so cool on Leshiy. And if the reticle is good for holdover (Vortex Viper PST, SWFA 1-4×24 Tactical Classic)it’s realky good for mid-range Leshiy use (up to 50m). At least that works for me!

No height issue for me

No problem with the height?

I wanted to bring the scope back towards me a bit for proper eye relief and felt it necessary. The Bugbuster does not have a lot of tube so adjusting it can be tricky.

I have the new bug buster on the way. Did you need the 1″ offset?

I have the Bugbuster with an UTG Integral 1″ Offset QD Ring Mount and is working for me for now. I am trying to stay compact with this gun.

Any one ever used a Bushnell Tactical 10×40 mil dot?

which model are you using?
the handguns I would put the Seeall on all have butt stocks or will have, so they are in fact pistol carbines

I have the version 2 that is Tritium lit with a delta reticle. For rifle use, I suppose the crosshair version may be more accurate. But I got mine used from eBay, so I cannot be too picky!

The See-All open sight is very cool, but not without a few issues. As a sight using optics (there is a half lens), the triangle only appears in view for a limited angle range. This is not unlike a dot sight, however, except a dot sight uses a reflective surface instead of a refractive lens.

On the Leshiy, this is not as much of an issue because the cheek weld helps to limit the range of angle. On a regular handgun, however, it may take some getting used to before one can use the See-All sight proficiently.

Just be prepared for some initial training time when you have to hunt for the mark when the sight is mounted on a handgun.

On the Leshiy, some people may prefer a weaver riser for proper cheek weld. I have to turn my head a bit clockwise due to the low sight alignment. However, the good thing of a 1.44″ equivalent scope height is improved PBR as well as less sensitivity to shooting angle.

Oh, one more thing. The See-All sight has plenty of elevation and windage adjustments, but there is no click. 1/16 of a turn is about 1 MOA. This may bother some people, but it is also nice because this means some people can now get the sight dead on with better than 1/4 MOA accuracy!

Supposedly, the See-All sight only weighs 2 oz. Out of curiosity, I weighed the gun with sight mounted and got back 3 lb 4 oz. I double checked the scale and there was nothing wrong with the scale. This is a bit lighter than the specification (4 lb and a few oz).

That SeeAll may have to go on a couple of my handguns for sure.

Thank you. It’s first pic I see the little SEE all open sign on leshiy. very cool. keep it being little leshiy.

I’m interested in putting a open sign on leshiy. Would you mind to post a pic?

Here you go!

With this 2 oz. open sight, the gun weighs in at 3 lb 4 oz. Pretty compact and light. I just tested this outside and was able to hit the .75″ center of my quadrant target from Steel Plinkers from about 21 yards.

Of course, it is a different story from 60 yards. I have my Taipan Shorty for longer range work, and that has a 4-14×44 FFP Athlon Talos BTR scope.

Hope this helps!
