Q:

Leshiy 12 ft/lb Huma reg issue

Ok gents, fitted a 12ft/lb Huma reg kit to a gen 2 Leshiy this evening. Won’t go below 12 ft/bs though. Tried different regulator pressure settings with the hammer spring at it’s lowest tension and the plenum volume reducer fitted, 110bar bang on 12. 100bar 13. 90bar 14. 80bar 13. Personally I think there is too much hammer spring and need to cut a coil or two off & refinish allowing me to utilise the adjuster. Anyone have another view ? Suggestions would be most appreciated. Transfer port restrictor also removed.

Thanks, John :smilen:

typical problem sub12, power runs away when low pressure in cylinder or reg setting.
you can go lower on the reg AND shorter or weaker hammer spring, but unless they stuck a slinghot valve in the leshiy (I doubt) you will see hammer bounce so it will not have much increase in shotcount.
also you can install a lot stiffer return spring (but probably will mess up consistency)
i would reinstall the transfer port restriction and try to drill it out a tiny bit at a time. the volume restriction is pointless Cheshire airguns used to put foreign bodies into airguns what a rubbish it costed them the reputation! Restrict the flow instead.

i have seen a sub12 fx barrel for impact in .22 had like a 1-2mm transferport LOL

I assume you put the black volume restrictor in? I can get down to 12 flbs in my .22 with 85 bar as far as I remember. But my Leshiy is Gen.1 and I know Gen.2 has indeed different hammer setup (more efficient) so it may be different.

I have a .177 Leshiy with a 250mm barrel and a HUMA regulator. At the lowest spring tension and 80 bars, I am shooting at 10 FPE. I am guessing a .22 is more efficient and therefore delivers more FPE.

Maybe set the pressure to 70 bars?

Sounds like leaking regulator. So actually you get full pressure in the plenum all the time. Try to clean it, or remove and put back again. It can be just a small piece of dust on oring or something similar. It’s leaking reg for sure.

Thanks Piter. The above were the reg settings not the pressure in the cylinder. It was superbly consistent at all reg pressure settings just couldn’t get it below 12.
