Q:

School for PCP air guns. I am ready

I saw on another site where a air gun tuner charged 120 dollars per hour.
I am a retired nurse, Big time Motorcycle rider and attempted mechanic ,
Now I can make 75 bucks an hour easy if I want to install cams , set valves, and do tune ups,
I just like working on my own bikes, There all show room clean and I do not get my fingers dirty.
I need to go back to school and get in on this 120 bucks an hour air gun tuning,
anyone that wants the site I can post it up.
Not even a R.N. with a Masters degree tacked on makes that king of money.

You need to come on down to the states,
A lot more guns down here.
Mike

I am a machinist and Gunsmith(Colorado School of Trades) and charge $75 for my shop time.

I know its a small notch group, But its growing,
And as a air gun smith government stays out of it, Except tax’s,
Come to think about it, Everyone I have done business with is swamped with work,
If I was 30 years younger I would jump on the air gun smith thing,
Work on your own time , In your own house or garage, and pretty well set your pay scale.
Have to to be very detail orientated ,
Make a name for your self,
Mike

Good money, no question.

Don’t know who the fellow is, but…once a fellow gets busier than he wants to be, can either just say no to a bunch of folks (and cause hard feelings/bad advertising)…or you can raise the price to trim some customers.

Mike years back I had two GOOD gun smiths, ones gone and the other is in his middle 80s and still smithing.

Now that’s pretty good money, No matter how you look at it,
My old PB gun smith used to charge per Job, He said it was to much stress working by the hour,
He has been gone many years,
Mike
I stole this off the site.
Custom work includes regulator installations, barrel crowning, custom parts, custom machining, parts design, etc. We are equipped with a 3d printer to help us design parts and make it into reality. We have a full machine shop. And we also have local cnc shops in our area that work with us.

CUSTOM WORK SHOP RATE: $120 / HR

Your right Mike I didn’t think of that. I did electrical work on the side, every weekend I was working for years PLUS my full time job as a lineman for our power company.

the guy was advertising on the AGN site, Tune ups for air guns 120 dollars an hour shop time.
Zonk your side jobs , I bet you used your truck, (gasoline) Driving time and your tools, drill bits and wire.
This guy has a gun shipped to his door and works on it for 120 bucks an hour,
Hell I got some friends that are welders that only make 160 bucks an hour, They have to buy there own trucks, welders, gas. rods, gloves.
shields, and a lot more, They follow the pipe lines around here, And the one I know is LIMITED to 60 hours per week, And he is paid contract labor
So he struggles to make it with a little under 10,000 a week, Yep, Ten thousand a week.
LOL,
Mike

Is that here in the States Mike? I used to make $100 an hour on my side job and I thought that was good $$$$$$$$$$$$
