Q:

To make life easier for the next time

Guys did you know that you don’t have to rip apart the whole gun to bits to get to the regulator? That is when you have done this little mod/swap earlier.

What I have done is replaced the round ‘nuts’ with standard/proper M4 nuts and in my case (based on the side of the cocking lever location on the right) I turned these 4 barrel clamp bolts around. I have done this a while ago.

Last week I had a reg failure (the lousy small o rings deteriorated inside the reg) i had to go in deep. I think Vulcans get to the age when you start seeing these. But this time it was a quick/simple job. Basically I only remove the stock and side plate with the Vulcan Logo to Access the heads of the bolts. With Allen key I am able to release the barrel and the cylinder now. When finished the nuts will lock again when I turn the heads from the other side so there is no need to hold both sides anymore to prevent the nuts from spinning freely, they used to do that or shear off completely :8:
Plus:
Normally I don’t like ball ended Allen keys but I figured out that with those you can get under the trigger link coupling so you can release the cylinder without removing the trigger guard on the other end (I used to do that) or mess around with the coupling. forget that!

Just release the 2 grubscrews which hold the valve block in the action. One flat tipped, other pointed. No need to remove the screws completely. ( The pointed tip one- closer to the butt side- will align the valve block when tightened up first when you rebuild it so there is no need to look down into that hole) just undo them as much the trigger link/coupling will allow you and the cylinder should come out.

Recently I have seen a taipan video when they just leave the valve block in the action and unscrew the cylinder in there. So can be done on Vulcan too. I would still pull it out not to scratch things up.

Plus:
If you want to lower the power on Vulcan you just need to rotate the barrel. Just put a mark on the barrel and the barrel clamp.

Next time you go in: I strongly recommend swapping the nuts out and if needed turn the bolts around so you can do everything from one side. with this mod you cut the number of screws touched to half, that’s a lot! Get some ordered.
