How to increase power?
Has anyone tried to increase the power of .25 Vulcan. I am looking to set up my gun to shoot the king heavies at 870ish fps and want to know if it’s possible.

I was shooting 775 fps… 34gr so ya 10-11 fpe cost me 1 mag. I had never had anything leap over a damn pellet or anything but I just wanted to be in the mid 8’s to feel better about those more nimble critters lol. I have hopes of taking a Coyote since we bought a home and I hear them on my little 2 acre plot. Necessary? Probably not..lol
How many FPE did you gain ………. 10 ?

Ernest set me up real sweet and my .25 Vulcan slings those 34gr. JSBs for 4 mags between 864-871fps and still laser accurate. So thats 1 for YES very possible.. however you’d have to ask Mr. Rowe just how. :5:

You can try Helium should give 30% more output, but fill only before shooting since it likes to leak out.

It’ll be interesting to see just what velocity it does shoot Mike. But first you’ll need a Crono, no more counting one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three like you’ve been doing till the pellet hits it’s target.
Hey now I got a vulcan 2 on order in 177 , I may be looking in a way to reduce the power , I sure do not want the pellets to vaporize, and turn to dust as they leave the barrel. 920 -980 seems about right to me, You big bores may need to back it down a little. Its no easy, with the hammer spring adjust you only increase 10-30 fps. To shoot the king heavies at 870 you will need high level tune, increase the plenum size and tranfer port. The Vulcan .25 was made to shoot JSB King 25gn. To shoot JSB kings Heavy 880-920 fps the Cricket is a better option or wait for the Vulcan 2 which is supposed to have much more power, but which is currently available only in caliber .30 (120J :winkn: )

I do think Earnest has his hands full, But once FX starts building better guns thanks to Earnest,
I do think things will settle down and he will be back up and running ,
