Can too fast cause leading ?
If I shoot my Condor @1000+ fps what are the chances of the pellets not following the rifling and blowing straight through the bore and therefore slowly filling the grooves in with lead ?
I’m using quality pellets like Kodiaks, JSB Exacts and Eun Jins.

I wouldnt go much over 1000fps with any pellet for a number of reasons on a regular basis, but you should be ok for the most part with those pellets.
I’ve found that Premiers tend to lead up barrels a bit if shot at those speeds.
Just put 3-4 drops fo FP-10 in each tin and you should be good to go. Dont make the mistake of using those pellets in a springer if you have one.
If you do that, you’ll likely never need to clean your barrel.
As for SS asking about cleaning…
I clean my barrel only on occasion…
When I get a new gun, I always run a few patches through the barrel.
If I have a new gun that is having accuracy issues, I may use a bit of JB Bore paste through the barrel…. but not a lot.
You shouldnt, nor shouldnt you need, to clean your airgun barrels regularly. I maybe clean mine once a year, if that.
Depending on the gun, I’ll use Goo-Gone or JB Bore paste on a barrel…and always end up running about 10 or 15 clean, dry patches through the bore. If it’s a gun that will be stored a bit, I may use a little FP-10 on a patch and run it through the barrel.
While on this subject, how often do you guys clean your bore? What do you use?
I doubt any rifle will blow past the rifling in the barrel. It doesnt take much force to spin the projectile.
If the pellet was undersized, maybe. I could see a round ball maybe turning about, but would still spin with the rifling.
Ive heard, somewhere, shooting Crosman Premiers too fast will lead a barrel. Something to do with the alloy composition.
Those pellets are fine and will give no problem.

Rob is giving sound advice. I don’t have any bore paste, so I use Flitz metal polish on new bb.’s. I use a lot of it here at the Lovett Knife Shop.
Either will give good results. I like a well polished bore. Much less leading over a long period this way.
Once I clean out the paste, I will run a few patches thru with FP-10, then dry patch. It really helps. Then as Just as Rob does, a few drops in a tin of the FP-10 and I am good to go for a long, long time!
This target shows the results. 50 yards, slight 10 mph cross wind JSB’s (15.9 gr.)in .22 cal, 18″ barrel. 😈
