Q:

22 mutant V/S 25 veteran, The big loan

I loaned both guns out to my brother in law, The clear winner is the 22 mutant?
I did inform him that when he ordered one he will get the upgraded Veteran 22.
I offered to loan out my Cricket 22 just to make sure, But he refused, Wanting a short light truck gun.
The Mutant does have the Hawke 6×16-50 scope and Harris bi pod knockoff,
While the 25 Veteran has the FFP Athlon Argos 6×24-50 scope, He did like this scope,(and I love it).
Also a Harris bi pod, And a Donny fat boy on both guns.
Also the Caldwell Dead shot field pod is going be on his want list,
got a couple of bubble levels on each gun I use and they look way cool.
Mutant 22 tuned at 819 FPS shooting 16gr JSB
Veteran 25 tuned at 887 FPS shooting 25gr JSB pellets
His range was out to a dirt pile at 50 yards,
ALL in all I think I did a good thing, There is a HUGE learning curve in this sport.
You just do not air the gun up, stick a pellet in and shoot it,
I been doing this about seven years and I am just touching the basic knowledge of the sport.
But I am a slow learner,

LOL, it was a brother in law ,
You know these PCP guns are more than just load a pellet in the barrel and shoot,
Its really a dam expensive sport to get into , Once you got all the stuff , It gets real cheap to shoot.
But then there is always a new doodad , that comes out that will be so cool on the gun,
Ten years ago I would not have loaned out my 760 crosman , I am sure age has some thing to do with it and wanting to help and warn someone about the PCP sport.

Quit loanin’ your shit out, Mike. Ain’t you heard? Nice guys finish last. :sadn: 😐

quote TerryE1:

What’s your shot count while it’s up at that power?

I’m blasting ground squirrels at 75 yards with polymags @ 900FPS.

Don’t know terry, only cranked it up to see what the max power is – prefer it at 32fpe to take it easy on the guns internals.

TERRY
come on now you can not do that!
we need caliber, gun, Shorty, stranded,
We need a little more information.

nope, just screwed the HST in all the way – so easily adjustable from like a few fpe to 38fpe! but this is the standard and not the shorty, the cocking is smooth as butter and the trigger is to die for, quiet as a mouse even at high power, even the stock is growing on me!

Fatdude,
Thats pretty hot, Did you do anything to the gun?
I got one of the first 22 Mutants shortys in US, Brian had it first, I know latter on the shorty came with one inch longer barrels, Little more FPS, the only way I think to get mine to shoot a little more FPS is to run with the gun while shooting.
Not sure if they changed the standerd Mutant barrel,
I got Linstone barrel that will shoot any thing accurate, Not sure who put the barrel on the gun? (Brian)
I bought a CZ barrel and its pretty picky about its pellets ,

iride, my .22 mutant standard really is the real deal – easily adustable power externally without having to take off the stock – at max HST 822fps jsb straton monster 25.39g, 38.12fpe!! and its really quiet too even at this power :4:
