Q:

Long Range Club

Hey guys,
I was over on the GTA and noticed that they have a long range club for nothing under a hundred. Would any of you guys be interested in starting a long range club on TAG ? How about it Tony ?

I am going to try it when the freaking rain stops here with my Talondor.

That’s not bad brother. I hope mine will get close to that with pellets. Thanks for the info on the bullets.

The Condor SS in .25, shooting .25ACP round nose cast bullets. 2-2 1/2″ groups fist thing in the morning, before wind makes any difference. RCBS 50 gr mold RN. 2% antimony. 930-950fps. I don’t hunt anymore just shoot for group size.

What kind of groups are you seeing ? I imagine that you are using a .25, what grain pellets ?
I will be shooting the JSB MKII 33.95Gr. pellets out of my Talondor .25 with the 18″ barrel. I just wanted to give it a try and see if I can get a 4″ or better group. I wouldn’t hunt that far with it, 70 yards is my limit but closer is better.
My buddy and I were out turkey hunting last Saturday on the last day. After not hearing any Toms for about 2 hours we headed back to the truck. Over in the corner of the pasture field there were 4 groundhogs feeding. We grabbed our Caldwell Deadshot field pods and setup to give the groundhogs a try. After discussing the yardage ( we didn’t have a rangefinder with us ). I sent a MKII at a 60 yard mildot and it dropped about 10 yards in front of him. My buddy held on a 65 yard mildot and dropped about 5 yards in front. I held my 70 yard mildot and sent the MKII and connected with a headshot. 70 yards is the farthest I have confirmed my mildot holds and it was right on. So, I am hoping that at 100 yards to be able to get a 4″ or better group with 5 shots.

I quite regularly shoot over a 100 yds, just don’t post about it. I am not getting as good of groups as I do with my powder burners.
