Q:

help with gen 2 vulcan please

Hi, Guys. I picked up a new to me gen 2 vulcan. Gun cocks OK but when I pull the trigger it is a muted hammer slap with a hissing noise and air coming from around the mag/breech. The pellet did not discharge. Any ideas of where to begin?

thanks

No pain no gain…………………..

I punted and sent it to Georgia Airguns today for some love.

Monkey man did you get the pellet out??

Barrel removal is very easy. You’ll need metric allens, T handle works best. Loosen the two screws under the side plate, loosen barrel set screw above receiver, and as your pulling it out slowly twist it from right to left. WALA, it’s out. Now you can push your pellet out with ease!

I removed the shroud and started down the barrel with a plastic rod. The pellet is about 1 1/2” from the crown. It wouldn’t budge. Will be much easier to go at it from the breech end and push forward once the barrel is removed. Barrel removal will need to wait for another day.

Take a 22 cleaning rod and push the pellet back to the breach, you won’t hurt a thing. Kris may be on to something. If your barrels not lined up properly and seated you may be blowing air out and around the mag area. There’s a small screw on top of the breach, remove it, if it’s an older gun like mine there wasn’t a screw on top just the barrel set screw. If’s it’s an older gun it’ll be a # 2 mm. look down in the hole to see if the barrel aligning screw is missing. If it is a 3mm X 14mm will work to hold barrel in place. If it’s still there it may not be seated properly.

I would get the barrel out maybe it is just rotated and transferport the hole on the barrel does not line up with the one in the action, is it upside down?

I do appreciate the help, Kris, but after finding the broken piece I’m not going to try to do this myself. I know better. I’ve fuxed many a gun trying to do what others do on this board. I’ve learned that I don’t have a fraction of the skills y’all have. But Charlie does. 🙂 Already send him the “help” email.`

Any pictures? Ffs naively I thought you will answer all my questions properly.

it is a .22 – one pellet in the barrel. Opened the side cover and a small black broken piece fell out. Something mechanical failed – also likely needs new rings, etc. Given that something likely broke I’m going to leave it to the expert and call Charlie at GA airguns to give it some love. I’ll just fux it up.

Tell us more, how many pellets are jammed in the barrel, how much air in the cylinder, what caliber, anything interesting to see under the side covers what come off, stuff like that.
Probably it will need reg o rings if it is that old, minimum
