Q:

Vulcan Regulator

So a couple weeks back I noticed my velocity go from 870-880 fps go down to 550 fps. I thought WTF? So I removed my regulator and cleaned and replaced all the O-rings, but first I measured the OAL of the regulator so when reassembling it world be very close to where it was at, 125bar. So I inserted the regulator into a regulator tester and it wouldn’t regulate. So I pulled it out and replaced all the O-rings again thinking I might of had a bad O-ring. Same thing happens, won’t regulate. I tried upping it to 30 bar and same thing. :angrymob:

So I emailed Airguntechnology asking what could be the problem as to why it won’t regulate. And what do I hear back from them is that they’re sending me replacement parts free of charge! Are you kidding me. What great customer service they have, and this is the third time I needed parts and each time they send them for free. And the whole shop is on vacation and they still answered my e-mail and sent parts. AWESOME customer service.
I offered to pay for the parts each time but they won’t take a dime.

This is something to think about when buying a high dollar PCP, will the company stand behind their product. Well Airguntechnology sure will!!!! :8: :8: :8:

Yes, the most accurate pellet I’ve found for both my Vulcan and Cricket. I haven’t tried them all, but, I’ve tried a lot of them. I’m real happy with the accuracy of both guns. I did shoot a group just over 3/8″ at 48 yards yesterday with the Vulcan, it was a perfectly still day. Why not 50 yards you ask, because I’d have to walk out into the bean field where I shoot and it’s still muddy from the 1.5″ of rain we just got.

Zonk
You shooting the JSB 18 gr pellets?
Mike

I have my new Vulcan reg set at 135 bar and I just cronoed 44 shots. 1st 22 shots were 898 to 907, I backed off the HST maybe 1/16″ and next 11 shots were 900 to 905. So I shot another mag and it was the same, 900 to 905 fps! Think I’ll just leave it where it is for now and see where it settles in at.

huma makes regs for the Vulcan too, but I think they are milking the FX impact community right now currently over $100 and voiding warranty.

Did you try rws hobby’s? In .22 they are good and cheap too, but they scream as they fly, making a high pitch noise, I think you are going the right way towards the lighter pellets..l anyway how are the slugs performing, I have seen your post elsewhere

Wow, I got to go back through the post and see the one hole groups at 50 yards, I know my 177 Vulcan 2 is shooting the match 8.26 gr wad cutters at 30 yards in one hole, Flipped me out , I thought they would be all over the paper, Best pellet so far.
and the 960 FPS has me scratching my head,

Mike, I’ve had nothing but good response with AGT and their crew. I put my NEW REG in yesterday. It came from them set at 125 bar. I jumped it up to 130 bar and my 1st mag was 900-909 fps. I was impressed with the consistency right out of the box. The group at 50 yards was dime to nickel size. Not like other groups on here where they’re one hole at 50 yards, maybe those groups were shot at 30 yards????

sounds good, Now I feel all warm and fuzzy with my Vulcan #2
They were always real quick at answering my E mails on the Vulcan 177, At first I did not understand I was dealing with the Vulcan company that manufacture the guns.
Mike

I just received my parts for my regulator from Airguntechnology. When I opened the bag I had to sign for, I thought WTF??? They sent me their latest regulator, no parts at all, a whole new regulator! I couldn’t believe it, you want to talk about customer support, they’re the best I’ve ever seen by far.
When your thinking about a high end PCP, you have to wonder if something goes wrong with my gun will they stand behind their product. Airguntechnology sure will!!!
Again, thank you Evgeny Pigrov!

Kris, no the O-rings looked good but after two years I figured change them anyways. The plastic tip had just a fine ring imprinted into it from the brass stem. I don’t see how I went wrong contacting the manufacture and getting my parts sent for free….

Crank, I bet you’ll love a Vulcan2. I sure do a lot of shooting with mine and my Cricket just sits in the breakfast room waiting to be shot.
Mines a .22 and I’ve killed woodchucks out to 128 yards. Sure a .25 is bigger, but a .22 will kill anything that a .25 will kill. :4: :4:

Cranky many say the .22 is better, does not jump that much so you get tighter groups… if hunting .25 for sure, otherwise smaller cals better

It sounds like you went the wrong way around. Next time you check get rid of the imprint on the plastic resurface the plastic seat, last time I used some fine sandpaper then 3m lappingfilm for that while spinning, and if you turn it in more the seal will get closer to the brass needle it will shut and don’t stay wide open for sure.
We’re the o rings in bad shape? Wondering what lubricant they put on it or what material it is.
