Finally, no wind for 20 good shots.
Woke up this morning to no leaves moving on my trees.
Set a target at 40 yards, fired 5 shots at the #2 target.
Moved it out to 70 yards, a tree that sits by the squirrel mound. Shot 5 shots at #1,3 and 5.
At 70 yards, the #1 target all pellets were seated deep in the breech. #3 and 5 the pellets were seated flush. The wind just started to move as I was finishing up with #5 target.
.25 Kodiaks @ 990fps ±10fps.
Taken this morning after the shoot. Camo Duct-style in the center, camo wrap everywhere else.

Well I shot the .25 at 100 yards today. Went about as well as could be expected.
I shot over the hood of my Jeep, and used a rolled up dog bed. Wasnt really steady enough to be called bench shooting, but it gives me a rough idea of how well I can shoot in a hunting situation. The wind was very mild, with the occasional extra push.
Kodiaks fell barely over 2 mil dots, and grouped in an almost circular cluster barely under 3″. Considering the amount of wobble shooting off the hood, I am very pleased with it. I was having a hard time keeping the mil dot centered inside the 2″ square I was shooting at.
42 gr EJ shot almost to 5″, and 4″ lower. Ive never been able to shoot any EJ accurately , so I wasnt surprised by this either.
Its definitely shooting minute of angle off the bench at home, I just dont have a clear lane through all my trees to shoot further than 70ish yards.
Im going to have to take my folding table next time. I was shooting on an old fire road which gives me over 200 yards in a level straight line. Only problem is, the wind crosses the road when it blows. Calm days are few here.
I shoot at 12x all the time. I know where to put the dots that way.
I carried my target board to the 100 yard mark and the wind blew the board over before I got back.
Oh well, Im supposed to be fixing the clothes dryer anyway… 🙁

Yeah Im getting pretty tired of the Leapers. Every day POI moves a little bit. I used WOKs trick and tapped the turrets with a quarter. Every time the POI comes back. I dunno if its temperature change or what, but the scopes innards are not stable.
I put a Leupold 6.5 x 20 on the other day, and POI remained stable the entire day but the objective wont focus below 25 yards and there is no mil dots.
So I put the leapers back on, but this time added the tri-rail. Nothing really changed but I can now use the top rail as a carry handle.
