Back porting can be a double-edged sword if not done/placed right.
Often owners experience a reduction and be not aware that the suppression is occurring being at the muzzle end only and on the shooter side became more pronounced.

So for me I’m cautious with this and it seem by adding a removable Donnydu TATSU @ only 4.25″ long would be a wiser choice.

You’re welcome :8: Think DonnyFL’s line of LDCs. A very popular add for this gun.

PS I forgot to mention that no one had replacement shrouds for my Short; a thing which might have swayed me from drilling mine. Maybe that has changed, but I don’t know. It would seem to be a spare part, but…???????????????? So if you like to tinker, be sure you have a spare lined up, and if you find one, please let me know. :tag:

Thank you!

Don’t do it. I looked into a new shroud after I drilled mine. Save yourself a lot of grief from failure. :sadn: Now I have black tape over the holes. Had I discovered decreased noise from the drilling, I’d have posted it. BTW, so guys filled their holes in, and used a black magic marker (unless I was dreaming).

PS ymmv; someone in that post claimed a reduced db level but also included with the holes was some sort of quieting material. I never added such material, to be clear.
