Q:

Only one

O.k. I am trying to figure this out would like some input from experienced users. In 25 cal. What is the most powerful ROBUST, SIMPLE,and trouble free easiest to maintain/repair BULLPUP out there. If you would have only one what would it be? Edgun?vulcan?taipan, kaliber gun? I am really liking the edgun right now! Or considering building an mrod pup. I would have almost as much $ in a build than I would a used eddy!i like the compactness and power of the taipan too. Not much support info out there on those thou. I don’t want to go much over 30″ I love my talonP just don’t like the shot count at high power, which is where I leave it set.i am on a fixed income now so $ is a issue, I can’t buy themall and then decide which I like best,I can only do it once, and it will take awhile to save for that ” and still be able to eat too!!!” And that kinda dampens a used buy too as most want to sell NOW!!! Of course! Can’t blame folks for that! So whatcha think guys what’s the best choice? Oh yeah hunting small up to med. game is my thing.from hunting in sub zero to 80 degrees.

Thanks all for all the input.this is gonna be a one shot investment. Money is hard to come by for me so this needs to be a good one!i hunt small up to coyote sized game with great success with my stock talonP I just want higher shot count with the same power.with a short overall length like 30″ish I am liking the taipan and the edgun r3m.i am not so concerned with the rear cocking as I deal with that now only single shot right? So mag fed is a huge plus!! :biggrinn: the price is right on the vetted and r3m too!

If you go with a Vulcan, get the lever-action cocking mod. My wife’s .25 was a pain to cycle discreetly, since it took some force. In a hunting situation, slower and fewer motions are important. I’ve got an Edgun and Cricket in .25, so between my wife and I, there are three .25 ‘pups in the house. The most accurate is the Cricket, followed by the Edgun and last is the Vulcan. All have been tuned by master Ernest and are very accurate. Our targets are 7/8 inch diameter and the usual range we shoot is 40-45 yds,-the most common hunting shot out here in dense woodlands. The Cricket delivers more one-hole, five shot groups, but is also the only one I’ve had to fix a leak on.

Bottom line, any of the above are fine hunting tools. What would you be hunting?

The Veteran 25 wins hands down,
Its shorter and lighter than the Vulcan, The magazine system is like the Crickets , Super easy to load and mark the mag and you always know how many shots you have left, The Vulcan is spring loaded and a pisser to load , And you never know how many pellets you got left unless you count the shots, The screws on the Vulcan are so tiny they are super hard to keep track of and take out and put back……………………. Not so on the Veteran easy as pie, Normal size hands can handle the screws ,
My vote is Veteran 25, or 22.
The front cocking lever on the Vulcan is just not that big a deal, I myself prefer the rear cocking on the Crickets and the Veterans.

It does Zonk thanks, love your avatar too!

Pb, after having a Marauder a Bobcat and a Cricket all in .22, my favorite one so far is my Vulcans. I know your asking about the .25 cal but the take down on both are them same. So far I think my Vulcans, one in .22 one in .25 are the easiest to disassemble. With the .25 using 34 gr pellets you can get 50+ FPE. But everything I’ve killed with my .25 I’ve killed with my .22. Accuracy on my .25 is unbelievable, trigger pull is a nice two stage with a nice 4oz second stage pull. If your looking for quiet, then the .22 is the way to go.

Plus one thing you need to consider, who’ll stand behind their product if and when you need parts. AGT is awesome at replying and getting you your parts in a timely fashion, and most of the time, free of charge. They recently sent me a whole new updated regulator free of charge, and I only needed one part for it. Which ever one you decide on I’m sure you’ll be very happy with! And I love the forward cocking handle on my Vulcans.

Hope this helps
