I knew the air gun laws were coming
Texas law I came across, Why even put air guns in this class and law, Makes no since to me.
Yes. The authority to regulate firearms is reserved to the state, except local municipalities may:
Regulate the discharge of firearms within their limits;
Regulate the carrying of a firearm or air gun by a person other than a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun under Texas law at:
A public park;
A public meeting of a municipality, county, or other governmental body;
A political rally, parade or official political meeting; and
A non-firearms-related school, college, or professional athletic event. [Tex. Local Gov’t Code ยง 229.001]

I just never seen it worded like that, No I have been in air guns since 1962, Jumped in big time in 1980 ( DR. Beeman). Then took another big jump in 2012 to the Marauder PCP world, Now most of my Powder burners set idle, Except my side arm.
I know in Odessa City limits , If your in your car past dark have your 40 caliber in your holster open or concealed no matter and your 177 pellet gun in the back seat, You by the law will go to jail,,,, Yep can’t have a pellet gun in your vehicle past dark,,,, :angrymob: :angrymob:

Maybe change the title, that law was “here” before you were.
Do a bit more searching and I think you will see that the “AirGun” part was added to the law in Jun of 2013, 6 months prior to you joining TAG.

We are unincorporated but any nearby cities have had airgun ordinances for decades. Lots of airgun shooting still occurs in city limits but if anything malicious happens they can nail you.

This was done to curb vandalism, not promote safety. (Paintball markers and airsoft too)
