air cylinder leaking.
My Vulcan has developed a problem,air is leaking from the second small hole in the cylinder furthest from the hammer valve end.
If I fill the gun it always leaks down to about 100 bar I assume from that fact the regulator is the likely cause of the problem?
I have the gun fully stripped and a replacement set of orings to hand but would value comments and suggestions before I dissassemble the regulator.
Can anyone please tell me the thread size of the hole in the regulator so I can make something to pull it out of the tube with.

Ok, problem solved………I put the bloody regulator in the wrong way round, shooting absolutely perfect now.
I forgot how good this gun is, I put the recent inaccuracy down to my poor shooting but now well impressed.

Thanks for the informative reply. I did manage to remove the regulator using the method you suggested by using my hand pump.
Spent all morning changing all the orings using the kit supplied by “Biggo” but I think I used the wrong size one on the reg piston. Now I can’t get the air in quick enough before it leaks out….B***ox.
As you stated in your reply the piston oring had gone very hard and broken, shame that as the rest seemed fine.
Can’t face taking it apart again today, it will have to wait for another day.
In answer to your question regarding the age of the gun I purchased it in October 2015, I guess it’s a mark one? It has always performed great though I have not used it much since I got it……..too nice to bump around the fields shooting vermin, also in FAC so not usable at home. 🙁

Hi Phil I live within half an hour from you then, it seems these are gaining popularity these days…
You can use just the air to pop the reg out obviously fill very very slowly and point it into a towel or so. M2.5 or around M3 something like that but you need a really long screw and you will be fighting vacuum as you pull it.
You have to open the body of the reg to get to the piston o rings, they age normal to go after a few years of use
Do not touch the locking nut or the brass bit at the other end as you will waste a lot of time setting the reg up if you lose the adjustment/setting.
What Mark/Age is that I never had to touch anything on 2 of mine, only the piston o rings went
I think I just used 2 large spanner’s one for the reg body (the largest diameter) and one for the base (the thick part )of the stem, I do have now the tool what goes into the 2 holes on the bottom too now, you will be fine.
You don’t have to touch the c Clip either, just unscrew/Separate the base/body
Never tried that actually maybe that’s the fastest way in but I never tried it that way. Let us know what you find.

Vulcans are very easy to work on, had my reg out and rebuilt last year. Have worked on several of my friends who have them. If your going to tear your reg apart, get a reg tester, make adjusting a snap.
