Numbers with Benjy tank installed.
Got the Benjy tank aired up to 3000 psi and have 20 shots thru the gun so far. Gun is a bone stock 18″ .177 with no adjustments to the TH. Power wheel is on 8.
Velocity is 603 – 605 fps with 8.30 grain RWS Super Domes. After 20 shots the meter on the tank is now reading just a pinch below 3000 or about 2900 psi.
With co2 in this same gun I am getting 710 fps with Super Domes.
I am just learning about these Airforce rifles and could use some input on the results I am getting with the regulated Benjy tank. Not very powerful but it ought to get about 200 shots from one fill 😆
So what do you Guy’s think ?? I was expecting more velocity … or maybe you can tell me how to coax more umph out of it.

Can test PSI output by fitting an On/ODd and a remote endcap to the co2 adpator. turned to “on”, pumped to test pressure, turned to “off”, then the pump vented, the adaptor will hold enough air for a test shot. Will be some air left over, so not all of it is sued in one shot (the adaptor has a good bit of room on the inside). Not 100% accurate as an attached HPA tank would tend to replentish the supply quickly, but will get you withion 5% of the real world. Makes selecting output pressure for an HPA tank less of a random choice.
Yeah…not without some danger as the end cap and on/off is not rated for high pressure…big solid unit, but still kept it under 1800PSI. Have to mention the above for safety.
The three odd shaped metal bits to the rear are pellet seaters. Don’t need them with some well fitted pelllets, but by using them have gotten good accuracy from the cheap, locally availible, .20 Benjamin/Sheridan Cylindrical pellets. Without seating, tend to fall out the breech….with the seater, groups have been in the 1″ at 50yad range.
