Scuba filling Q
Hi all,Iam new to this forum but have been reading a ton.I like to research my new endeavors well.Am soon to order a talon ss and have contacted my local dive shop.Great guy just wants me to sign a waiver and he’s got me a alum. 80cf just hydrod tank for 100 bucks and 5.00 refills.We talked and I’m gonna take the airforce tank the first time and he’s gonna fill the scuba then let me fill the gun tank then top off the scuba.My question is with my tank full to start how many refills will I get (or shot equivalent)from the scuba tank before I’m down to say 2200 psi and need to refill the scuba tank.Hope you understand my q and I have searched.

Fill of the scuba to around 2800psi and shoot down to 1750 or so and you will get around 7-8 complete fills. But then you just keep filling and shooting at less pressure until you cant stand it anymore and then go get it filled again.
If you are of the mind for plinking and target shooting every shot does not have to be at full power, the scuba will last you just fine.

A 80 cuft alu tank has a fill pressure of 3,000psi. It takes approximately 50lbs of force to overcome the Airgun’s tank return spring pressure plus the tanks internal pressure. So with that in mind the maximum fill pressure you’ll get from a 3K source is 2950psi.
A steel tank is charged to 3420psi and 100cuft alu is charged to 3,300psi giving you more headroom per refill. Here’s a calculator: http://www.airhog.com/tank.htm.
Most guns start working good around 2,800psi so filling to 3K is not required. A stock TSS will give ~30 full power shots per tank fill.
Can’t answer your question with scuba tank refills, I have SCBA tanks, but here is a calculator that will get you pretty close.
