Q:

I don’t get it.

I was having a look for airgun regulators and came across this, for a scuba-tank. Just how hard could it be to put this into a Talon bottle, with the fill-inlet under the valve-seat in some way?

Am I missing something obvious here? The complexity of the design I’ve seen elsewhere on this forum, compared to the diagram above…WTF? 😕

Looks like Mike’s design with the spring washers is right in line with the high dollar stuff.

You would have to incorporate a one-way fill-valve into it somehow, almost certainly as hard to do, if not more so, than make a regulator from scratch. Plus connect it to the bottle’s own valve-assembly.

Are you trying to tell me Airforce are incapable of doing this themselves? When other pre-charged rifles already have exactly the same kind of regulators (derived from scuba-tank designs) in theirs?

Well look at it this way….. Airforce could not get it that the Condors could not take a 3000psi fill. It was the members of this forum from the days of the TOG that solved the problem. They/we would not settle for the line of bull that came from Airforce and fixed it.
So a fella here came up with an incredible design and built the prototype long before Airforce even considered it. If they cannot understand their valve I highly doubt they are going to understand or design a complex regulator.
So if you got a design to build I say go for it and perhaps it will be yours that AF adapts to their guns that don’t have problems.

BTW I went ahead and built my own rifle without the problems that the Airforce customers had as in weak top rail, weak trigger components, bogus safety,poor head position, poor length of pull fit, 800cc tank instead of 400cc, fill connector and guage, valve capable from .177 to .458 from 20fpe to 460fpe in one gun.
