Supersear for Crosman 22xx/13xx’s
Just arrived in the mail today from Big Ed machining – One for my 1322 and one for the 2289.

Quality isn’t exactly what I was expecting – but I’ll see how they do in the guns once I get them installed and how the compare to just using a lighter spring with a spring guide that has over travel adjustment built into it.

AZ has been sitting on guys guns for 4 or 5 months because he has no where to work on them. And many can not reach him by his only link to the outside world, the telephone. How pissed off would you be to send off your new Rapid and not see it again for 5 months?
And no matter what a $1700 gun should at least be up to par in feature to a $900 gun.
yup thats what i have heard too…great job done by him…but it takes a looooong time….
and yes 800 more than a AA410, should buy you something….just in this case it does not
i would like to see a survey of how many of the AA forums Rapids are stock…..i cant say mine is…i got annoyed with the way filling the rifle works i got swifts quickfill on it (something that should have been there from the get go)
theres not even dovetail on the rifle !, so if you dont like the rings it comes with…its either 89 bucks for a weaver rail…or you gotta have something custom made… 🙄
Your right on the Air Arms. I have one and just love it. It is so accurate and trouble free it is BORING. Because it answers the call everytime you pull the trigger.

uhmm your welcome…
on AA i got some PM’s saying just ship it off to AZ he will make it a tack driver….and all that kept spinning through my head was…why do i need to ship off a brand new 1650$ rapid to have it tuned…shouldnt such an expensive gun shoot perfectly from the get go ?
the rapid action is so simple…it cant cost very much to machine…the barrels are LW we know what they cost even though theoben says its premium handselected barrels they get. walnut is nothing to write home about, airarms walnut stock is something to behold nicer inside out.
people say the action of the rapid is solid…that might be true for most part….but the barrel mount is oversized…so instead of press fit..it relies on a screws clamping thingy and a set screw at the top….even BAM does a better job on the b50….yes i just compare a Rapid to a BAM !
Rapid comes with….uhmmm scope rings…can be had in .25 and power about 45-48 fpe
AA410 comes with pressure guage, quickfill…is just as smooth cocking, just as accurate…nicer stock…nicer finish….threaded shroud…34 fpe in .22…
im sorry i sound like an advertisement for AA…its not, its just what i can relate to….heck i have had a .22 career 707 mk2 .22 that would pump out 45 fpe easy and was more accurate out of the box ! but those cant be had any more
ahh man im so frustrated with it….quality on theobens have sunk to a low low level since i bought my eliminator which was pure awesomeness….
rapid,…you can see machining marks on reciever, barrel missing bluing in both ends, rust inside of it…theoben says normal…i got pictures of new rapids saying different, crown is so and so….i used some borepaste and rust and grit came out easy…followed by a buch of clean patches and then an oily one…an then clean patches till they came out clean too….now i just need to test the darn thing
all the people who wrote and told me that san fransisco was an awesome place for airgunners…with just 30 minutes to either desert or forest…i would like to hear from you…cause the closest i can find i 90+ minutes away.
IMHO i should have just bought that 410 carbine….AirArms quality is just soo much better, and at least the one i had was dead accurate all the time…
arghhhhh
pisses me off
Cyg,
Thats why I have alway liked you. You tell it how it is. When I read about your Rapid story on AA my heart sunk into my stomach. Because that could have been me. I was close to getting one.
I have read over and over again how they are not measuring up and all I see is excuses over and over again. Well those making excuses are not helping at all and because no one complains Theoben has been turning out subpar Rapids and people just keep buying them.
Glad you screamed from the rooftops because I was close to placing an order with PAG.
Thanks.
you had to drag my rapid into this….

Reminds me of Cygnusx’s Rapid, but hey.. its how it shoots not how it looks…. for the low low price of $1700 you cant expect both !
I will make sure I drag it behind my car a little more for you
A bit of work on my part and that will be great, thanks !
Hey Ninja,
I have this great custom pistol for you. It only cost $15 so you I will sell you 2 of them. It does not matter how it looks only how it works. Hope you like them

Those, in conjunction with the lighter spring work well, but yes… they do look rough. I’ve got a couple of them and they look no better. I actually honed mine down with a dremel on the contact points.
I cant say enough good about Ed’s B51’s. I’ve got one and love it…. but those sears….well…
I ordered on the 4th and received it today so not that long a wait. I have seen complaints on the Yellow about delays for other parts tho.
I was thinking about one of those, or the adjustable model. But that just looks like ass.
Like 8 months ago Ed was working on machining me a wide aluminum trigger. He told me “I’ll get to it when I get to it.” … I haven’t heard from him.
Thanks for posting.
Prince Philip told me that they look as though they were put in by an Indian.
That is butt ugly!
raw cuts from the laser or water jet……. I am not impressed either.
May want to post on the yellow and see what SteveNC has to say.
Walter….

I saw the overhang of your mount on the Rapid. What the hell is up with that?
What a novelty a scope rail…what will they think of next?
