For a while with my condor, I had it where it would shoot right at 900fps no matter what pellet I shot. I’d shoot crow mags at that speed, then put in an eun jin, and shoot at the exact same speed. 😛 No idea how that happened, old valve was always a little on the funky side, but it happened, and I never trust what I think anymore. 😛
That is true. I’ve experienced similar. Don’t know why or how, but I guess something to do with the “lock time” I guess they call it? With heavier ammo you’ll get a bit more air behind it.

Thanks TT, did a fill to 2800 psi adjusted the tophat to .069 and here is the chrony string using 21 g Kodiaks as I don’t want to waste anymore Eun Jins.

Eun Jins should clock around 990 wife walked downstairs and started complaining about my shooting (better now 😀 )so I will chrony the EJ’s tomorrow I hope.

I think that anything under 10fps per shot is fine as you won’t notice any difference from one to the next when shooting. That being said, you could get a closer spread by altering the tophat, but someone else would be better to give you a starting point on that.
You’ve got a spread of 140+fps between those 26 shots, and my guess is that if you start at say 2900 for the next test and then shot 26 shots you’d be closer to a 100fps spread. If 2900 is not enough, or too much then adjust accordingly. What you really should look for is for the first 10 or so shots to be increasing in velocity (although not erratically) and then for the next shots to bring you back down. So, something like 930 up to 990 and then back down to 900 on the bottom end of the string.
Will do read that MAC1 suggested 2600 psi to get more fills from a scuba tank but the new valve and heavy hammer gives full shots from the get go.
What is a good per shot variance for fps?

Randy, why are you starting at 2600psi? If it’s to get full-power shots from the get go why not increase the pressure 100psi at a time so that you can get a bellcurve. That will give you either more shots with the same spread, or the same number of shots with a tighter spread.
