I finally bit the bullet and bought a laser. Only reason I bought it was to bump the order up high enough to get free shipping, LOL.
I like the hell out of it though, but it took some finagling to get it mounted.
I took a small weaver rail that was for a TC barrel, and milled it flat on the bottom, then grooved it .452″ wide so it would sit on top of the frame under the scope. Drilled and tapped the frame and viola!
Through the scope I can see the green dot at 300 yards in broad daylight, pretty damn neat.
I can now easily pick off squirrels at close range LOL.
An inadvertent testament to the Accushot mounts; when I put the scope back on I figured I would have to rezero. NOPE. Dead-nuts at 60y.

Very cool Riff, how did you set yours up as far as ranging, it seems most guys use the laser for close up work, and use the scope for longer distances with it zeroed farther out? I’m toying with the idea of getting one myself some day. I really like the thought of simply putting the lazer dot on something, and knowing that’s exactly where the pellet will hit.

I set it up for close range, like 10 yards. Thats right at the bottom edge of my parallax adjustment. At that range, any pellet I choose to shoot is within 1/4″ of POI.
Many times when I step out on the porch, a squirrel will run out from underneath, stop about 10 yards for a few seconds, then run for the hole.
The laser has given me 2 shots I normally wouldn’t have time to take. Didn’t even look thru the scope, just pointed the green dot and fired. Made the wife happy, so it paid for itself in 2 shots. 🙂 I don’t have a CygnusX quality infestation, but it keeps me busy.
When I shoot at 60y, the dot is about 4″ low. I haven’t tried any longer range shooting since mounting the laser, but I think it will re-zero around 80 yards. The laser dot is halfway between the 1st and 2nd mil-dot, and the 2nd mil is right on at 100y.
A few days ago, I had some turkeys in my yard with their young. I sat on the porch practice aiming at them. The green dot was easily visible thru the scope, but for some reason it very hard to see on them even though they were in the shade. They were under 60 yards away; the damn turkeys were laser-proof LOL.
Once though, the beam hit the turkey in the eye and reflected it back at me pretty damn bright. It didn’t seem to bother the turkey, but I swear it made my eye water for a while.
