Nylon window screen works well. Wrap it around some small OD springs. Add a few wraps of fishing line around the outside if you want the baffles to stay together.
yeah, I forget who posted it but they used window style screen wrapped around periforated metal tube? I’m currently using the PVC version with scotchbrite pad, Vented bushing and vented frame. Any opinions would be great. thanks

I chose to use fiberglass window screen for it’s density and durability. Several wraps of the screen creates a dense layer that’s thin but still allows air through. A small repair roll is pretty cheap.
I’m not sure the pads last very long. Try this torture test.
Take a piece of each material, one in each hand, and wad them up several times. Roll them around and punish them a bit to simulate what’s likely happening inside a shroud. Open each hand and see what you have left. The window screen may soften up a bit but will still be fully intact and return to it’s original shape. The pad will be compressed and will have distorted out of shape. It will have shed much of it’s abrasive particles in the form of green sandy dust. Do you REALLY want this abrasive dust in YOUR rifle?
No offense to anyone using the pads. 😕 I’ll save mine for woodworking.
