SCUBA tank guage
Does anyone have a lead on a cheap scuba tank gauge? At the local SCUBA shop they have a guage they put over the outlet and it tells the cylinder pressure.
I usually fill only to 1900 psi and the only way I know how to check right now is to fill the condor tank to full pressure to find out. Is there another way to do this? If I fill to 2600 or so it takes forever to bleed that much pressure off to be back in my power zone.

This one’s easy, and cheap. Hopefully, at least.
You need to ‘deadhead’ your filler then read the tank pressure on it’s gauge.
This is fairly easy to do, usually. In my case, I have a short hose with a female QD fitting so I can swap the fill adaptors for my various PCPs on it. My deadhead adapter is a male QD with a plug on the other end. To see what’s left in the tank, I put the deadhead on, close the vent valve and open the fill valve. The fill rig comes up to full pressure which I read directly before closing the valve and opening the vent again. A small amount of air is lost, of course.
If you use a SCBA tank (like one of mine) there’s already a built in tank gauge in the knob assembly. Glows in the dark, too…….
