Q:

Installing a Fosters QF into the Valve Body

Anyone who has done or knows how it would be done – if they could help me out with some instructions plse.

Doesn’t matter that it sticks out and stops the tank being screwed onto the gun.

tubing strength is defined by the hoop stress from pressure not from volume.
1/8″ copper line is good for like 20,000psi and very easy to work.
SST microline is available from McMaster Carr as you said medical/scientific type stuff.

Blodnob and me are going to put our brains together to try and make half a brain between us and come up with a valve that can be linked to a forward mounted bottle by a thin tube. YN, IIRC it was one of the UK fellas that made some of these. Perhaps Buba?

Make a longer valve body, turn a sleeve that slips over the valve body and oring seals to it. This allows the fill and guage to be held as the bottle is turned into the frame.

That sounds like Baz’s work.

Bikini, the QC is basically a profiled hollow single piece of metal. Needs a check valve – Which is what I need help with. Wont hit the frame because the tank isn’t screwing into the frame directly.

I would have thought the foster has one of those…?

How are you going to make it so the Foster fitting does not hit the frame? You are going to have to machine an extension.

What prevents the tank from dumping through the foster? It will need a check valve correct?

Take out your burst disk, and make an adapter to allow the Foster fitting to screw into where the burst disk was. Then attach the burst disk to the adapter you just made.
