Shark Pellets
I just received two plastic jars of Shark Pellets from Sunshine Airguns & collectibles.
I was excited to test a bullet shaped pellet in the 18″ Bbl, with Condor valve. I was hoping for a long range round. With what should be a high BC.
Well, this is with out a doubt the worst grouping pellet I have ever tested. At 40 yards, in admittedly fairly strong wind, (We have a hurricane off the cost) they group over 4″, with one left flier out by an additional 2 inches, and one to the right over 4 inches out. That’s a 10″ 10shot group folks! 🙁
For a control, I shot 5 JSB’s, and 5 Predators at the same distance.
JSB’s went 3/8″ and the Pred’s went just under 3’/4″ with a called flier opening up the group to 1 1/4″. Entirely my fault!
The first thing I noticed when examining the Sharks was that the Hollow points weren’t centered in the bullet. No Doubt this is causing them to spin off axis. Opening up the group. The fit in the bore was very loose. Read not engaging the rifling at all when being seated in the breach.
Wasted money! I could have almost bought 4 more tins of Predators for what they cost, with Pyramyd 4 for cost of 3 deal!

are these the hollow points only, or did you try the solid ones as well?
I seem to remember someone saying they were tight as hell, just wondering if the solid ones are a bit bigger????
Yella; they were an interesting pellet for me, that’s for sure. They are very, very loose in the bore as you know (they are 2.167 at the widest point) which is why there is an accuracy problem in most rifles. However, when I tested them by shooting into phonebooks and a bucket of water they expanded like nothing else. The pellets shot into the water exploded into about 20 different pieces.
I think if the barrel was slightly tighter than usual then these could be great in a lower powered gun for shooting rats up close.
I have one and a half jars. If anyone still wants to give them a try or has had good luck with them be glad to send them your way . Tried in my 22 cal. Career Infinity and boy did they suck.
I bough some ages ago – they sucked. I sent a few to tron because he mentioned wanting to give them a try and I didnt want him to be out of pocket if he had same experience I had… and they sucked for him too IIRC.
Someone else made a thread about them a week or so ago and I was going to mention mine and trons experience, but someone said they worked great and I didn’t feel like being told I was somehow mistaken with my own results…

Load 3 at a time for a tri-plex. I wonder if they would group any better LOL.
I wish this world help! but the hollows in points are are so far to the side, that they will always be unstable.
I’m thinking of having a .22 Bbl. turned down and trying some .29 and .36 slugs in them.
If I had an old .22 airguns bbl, I could use it to swedge a few down to try in or guns!

make a swage and reshape them concentric. Bonus being you will have a swage for lead wire later.

Just make sure you use them to shoot at 20″ targets and you will be all set 😆

I thought that it might be interesting to be the first person in the world (probably) to shoot Sharks from an Air Wolf.
As strange as it may sound, I’m a fan of the Sharks but I do realise that they do need a rifle that has a slightly smaller than usual barrel size. Aren’t Crosman barrels on the small size?
