Great afternoon!

Gabe, aka BirdHunter, made the 4 hr. trek from Kennewick to Twisp yesterday just to hang out, shoot, talk air guns and drink a little beer. Had a great time, he brought along his Tony shrouded Condor and a .22 CFX, I have my TSS with 18″ .22 and Blodnob valve and my AA S400 .177. Before I go on, just a quick review on the Tony shroud: HOLY CRAP, BATMAN!!! That thing is nothing short of incredible. I thought my S400 was quiet, he was chronying in the high 900’s with Kodiaks, he’d pull the trigger and all you’d hear was a hiss, followed by the pellet hitting the target. I don’t know how he does it, but I’m thinking a deal with the Devil is involved here :-). I know this, I’m going to have to be talking to Tony about one for my Talon soon.

Turns out Gabe like to shoot at longer range, so I had to move my bench back to 45 yards from my usual 30. I must say, we were both doing some respectable shooting. That Condor of his is amazing, hissss, SMACK, and another paint ball would explode. I have a Hawke scope on my S400, one that the Hawke BRC software works with. This is the first time I tested it, according to the software, with a 30 yard zero, the first tic below the crosshairs should be right at 45 yards, and it was. I was very impressed, and went to whacking a few paint balls myself. We even did some shooting with his CFX, makes me wish I still had mine. At 45 yards with Superdomes, we were making one ragged hole in the target. We never messed with his scope, he has it zeroed at something like 11 yards for whacking starlings out a window, so it was hitting 5 or 6 inches low, but really nice accuracy. It’s been at least a year since I shot a springer, may just have to do something about that after all :-).

Well, I’ve gotta run, got a golf tourny to play this morning, but I just wanted to say a big Thank You to Gabe, and hope to do it again sometime soon. Later.
