Q:

Need help connecting scuba to Condor

I have a Condor on the way. I bought a fill station, hose and foster fitting from a guy on the Yellow forum who told me this would hook right up to a Condor/Talon. Now that I look at what I have I don’t think this will be possible without an adapter. This will be my first AF gun so I am asking for your help to determine what I need in order to hook up my scuba setup to the Condor bottle.

The pics of what I have are below. The Foster fitting end is male (threads on the outside). The inner diameter seems to be 1/4″ but the the overall diameter with the lip is 5/16″. I thought an AF fill-adapter would fit but now that I ‘ve seen pics of it I don’t believe it would. Looks like I might need a female-female adapter. I don’t want to purchase the AF fill-adapter yet in case I need something more. Would rather order both at the same time.
Thanks for any info in advance!

Alright Harry! Tell Tim TAG is a big fan. He has helped many of our members get set up. I recommend members to him all the time because he always comes through.

I got my LD pistol from him and it is nice dealing with someone that knows his stuff. The tank, hose and adapters in my pict came from Tim as well.

Glad you are on track!

Yep got it Tim. Disregard my last message. I worked very late and had a stressful day and no dinner yet. The brain is not working.. I can use this adapter on different bottles.. I meant to say.

That’s good I ‘m all set. Tim said to give him a call so I ‘ll be ordering it tomorrow. It ‘s definitely a lot simpler than I was making it out to be.

Tim sells an AF adapter that has a male foster on it. It is the black thing in the pict. It will plug into the female on your hose

Tim of Mac1 finally e-mailed me back. He said the same as you guys – that a Quick-connect male would have to be “machined” onto the AF bottle.

Does that mean it won’t come off again or will it be a screw-on piece that I can take off and use on another AF bottle?

thanks for the help guys, especially Adam!

Thanks Adam, came right out! I guess I wasn’t pulling hard enough when I tried it a few days ago. Boy to I feel stupid 🙂

Ok so basically all I need for the fill-adapter is a 1/4″ Male (unthreaded) end/tip that should snap right into the (now) female Foster on the hose.

quote Harry:

I tried to take that male threaded part off but can’t figure out how to do it. It just keeps turning. I played around with that quick-disconnect (jewled-looking) ring too while trying to pull the threaded end out but it wouldn’t budge. You would think I should be able to remove it.. (I could be doing it wrong). Is there a trick to it? Or it’s just all 1 piece.

Pull on the “jeweled thing” down towards the hose and at the same time pull on that threaded piece out of the jeweled thing.

Or open the female adapter and remove the male foster adapter.

Harry, is there a female coupler if you take the threaded part off?

with a female adapter on the end of the hose you can put male adapters on all of your PCP fill adapters.

For example the adapter for my AA410, CAREER 300 and Talon all have a male adapter and all I have to do is click on and off the adapter I need to use.

You need to have yours set up in the same way.

Hey Adam, correct me if I ‘m wrong but the foster fitting at the end of your hose seems to be female, but mine is male! Notice the threads are on the outside on mine which would indicate it’s a male end connector.

So I would need female-female foster adapter, no? since the AF fill adapter also looks like it has a male end?

Also is there something special (add-on) fitted onto the AF fill adapter? The end connector looks longer than the pic of one I saw at Pyramyd.

thanks
Harry

Oh, for a filling at a paintball shop, duh! I tough it had something to do with connecting to the bottle.

The one on the left is a male-male foster for filling.

And yes, I already see the man on man action joke coming.

He adam, what is with the adapter on the left? You don’t NEED that do you?

Call Tim McMurray at Mac1 airgun

You are not set up correctly for AF gun and who ever sent that to you either did not know what he was talking about or made a mistake.

This is what you need.
