Q:

Shooting CP’s… is it just me?

I’ve never had good luck shooting these pellets. I’ve tried them in my modded 21″ bbl 2250, my TSS with the 12″ bbl, and now with the 18″ bbl. I haven’t shot then in a long time but thought I would give them a try again since I’ve been working on my holding technique. No real change. I know lots of people like them, but I never seem to do much better than what you see here. Kodiaks do far better. Anyone else experience wierdness with CP’s? Or is it just me?

my spring rifles hate them but they do well in my hpa rifles!! could the velocity play a big part in this ???? kingpin

My .22 Bbl. doesn’t like them, but the .20 loves them. Strange as I have heard may say that they fit loose in their .20’s, but they are a tight tight fit in the .20 I have. Just wish it was not a 12″ Bbl. 🙁

i have flyers also thought it was me! still think its me!! ill get about two flyers and then put five or so in the same hole @ 50 feet. kingpin

I can barely stay under an inch at 50 yrds if I’m lucky with cp’s, kodiaks are hidden with a dime unless I’v got the twich going. I also have a hell of a time keeping cp’s under the crack which could be coming into play

I get 2″ groups at 100yds with CP’s The same with Kodiaks but a much looper trajectory.

cp’s do just fine for hunting, but they are worthless for getting a nice tight group in my opinion. no mater what I do theirs always at lease one flyer per group just to piss me off, kodiaks never seem to do that to me, now if I could just replenish my diminishing supplies of good old kodiaks I’d be a happy fat boy

Haven’t found a “universal” pellet yet…no matter how much one barrel likes a pellet, your gun might gag on them.

After three guns, am pleased to have found one that actually likes the .20cal. CP’s (and it’s not the Talon).

Came across this vid… Crosman Pointed vs. Crosman Premiers.

Only the cardboard box ones for me 😀

I’ve used the CPs in the tins you get from Wal-mart. They’re a much sh*ttier quality pellet than the boxed variety. Although, I have not used the boxed variety, the tins always perform like hell for me.

Love CP’s .22

100 yds I can hit a airgun silhouette ram with no problem

Thx daved, so I’m not the only one. But here’s some more weirdness. The pellet that most shooters hate is the Crosman pointed pellets… now I’ll shoot sweet groups all day long with those… in both my guns and the 2 TSS barrels. Go figure eh.

They don’t work for me either, never have. Best I’ll get is the occasional nice looking group, then a flyer blows it to hell. Usually looks more like yours. In .177, I’ve done okay with the CPH’s, but not the Lights. I’ve tried them in springers, too, the only one I had that liked them was my HW 77, and it liked the JSB Express just as much, and they were much easier to load. So it isn’t just you :-). Later.

Dave
