Q:

Problem with brand-new rifle.

I bought my brother a Storm a few weeks ago and it was working fine. This afternoon it was suddenly losing MV, even with a filled tank (firing it lower didn’t make a difference).

Checked the valve assembly in the bottle, no probs there. Stripped the rifle down, it appears one of the breech-block o-ring grooves has been cut too deep, allowing the o-ring to stretch over time and it no longer grips the barrel at all. The other o-ring binds nicely. Also the edges of the flawed groove are scuffed, indicating the barrel has been bearing on it instead of on the o-ring.

Any easy solution, or is it a return jobby? A custom replacement breech might be the best solution, not being impressed with AF’s machining as he is right now.

Any advice or help would be appreciated, he’s pretty teed-off right now (crying like a babby 😆 ).

I can understand why you would want to fix it yourself, but it sounds to me like a warranty issue. Take it back to the retailer. The shop and Airforce should sort it out.

Two probs with that one, the shop is a long way from here (50 miles in Essex) and he’s lost the reciept I gave him with the rifle. That was the first idea though, send it direct to Gunpower with the reciept. But no reciept, they won’t deal with it. It’s highly unlikely they would have got it sorted in time anyway.

Good morning RiffRaff. I’m sure you are a perfect gentleman sir. 😆

Just start producing stuff i can stick on my Storm. If that includes the odd finger tip or chunk of flesh, i dont mind, all adds to the ambience of the rifle 😆

How about a nice little engraved plaque to stick on the butt, telling you which end of the rifle is which? 😛

PM me his address then. He’ll get it before the 16th unless Customs decide to look at it, and thats never happened when I’ve sent packages to England before and I’ve sent a few.

He’s PM’d you now. 😀

The instructions on that bag are almost PORNOGRAPHIC 😯

Langa…..

I have a Breech sitting around that is 100% unused still in its little Air Force baggie.

If you still need one send me a PM with your address and it will be in the mail USPS Global Priority in the morning.

Mate, you’re a bloody star. I’ve just responded to the chap selling his spares, don’t want to disappoint him but depends on how much he wants for them. Question then comes down to whether or not he’d post them immediately before he got the moolah (trust), but in the case of your most kind offer that’s not an issue. Time is.

My brother has just registered and is about to post (I’m on Skype with him now). If you would be so kind as to send him yours, I’ll have the other chap’s aluminium one for myself if it’s not too expensive.

Needless to say, we owe you one bro. 😀
