No, THESE are hand-cannons…
All this talk of people here and their new hand-cannons reminds me of this picture that I posted up a while ago:
Genuine state of the art bang-bang.

its ok to fart in CA, however you must sniff it all in quickly, wait for the depostis to set in your lungs before exhaling again…. then its legal 😆
10000 fpe in a handgun…i think unless your wigh in at 400 pounds your gonna have a very tough time holding on……i would imagine it being shot of a benchrest only so you can put a bit of downforce on it
was at a safe handgun course last night…instructor was disorganized blabber mouth…however….i got to hold the SW 460, it has al ridiculous long barrel…i keep thinking the old batman movie where the joker pulls a revolver out with a 3 foot barrel.
also was got to hold the 686 with 4″ barrel….i like the looks better of the 6″ barrel, but steveLA was correct what a sweet revolver…and sweet trigger…only problem is the handle…wife has childlike sized hands…and se cant wrap her fingers around the grip perfectly….i hope she can manage…we’ll see maybe the ruge mk3(they dont have the mk2) will probably be her gun of preference…they both punch a nice hole in paper, cans etc….
gotta read my safety handbook once more….and do the online test then im headed to the store for my handgun safety test 🙂
UPDATE: safety test passed YAY ! 2 mistakes….one of the true or false that i cant remember….and where is the caliper stamped on a revolver…i said barrel, when answer was all of the above (frame, cylinder)
90 days has passed…i just cant prove it yet…few more days…and i got the utility bills to prove it
and yeah handing a hard recoiling firearm to a small framed person or novice is freaking nuts….at 16 years i looked like a bulimia case, skin and bones, and a my host brother in canada was chosen be one of those entertaining kids that ride along with the troopers…well we where at the range…and this cop thought i should try his deagle….blammo….hit my self in the forehead…bruised…he took the pistol…and gave me a .22lr something instead … asshole he said the weight of the deagle would keep it ok and i shouldt be afraid… the 22 was way fun though
Must be a Cali. thing. I’ve been shoothing revolvers for at least 40 years, and I have never seen the Calibre stamped on the frame or cylinder.
Ah yes–dueling pistols.
I challenge you to a duel–bitch!

The Desert Eagle in 50 is pretty tame really. The gun is such a brick with big springs that it soaks up a ton of the recoil.
The highest recoil handguns you will ever shoot are some of the custom big bore Contenders if you ever get a chance. Guys will make custom barrels for the craziest rounds for those things.
Hard recoiling firearm and small framed person.
I think me and my cannons fit that perfectly. 😀
I enjoy it though. I really want to shoot a desert eagle. That would be awesome. 🙂 Biggest handgun I’ve ever shot is my 44 magnum. Decent size.
I have to imagine that those 600 nitro express guns would break my hand in half. 😛
You Boy’s ain’t seen noth’en yet! Here’s how we roll down here in Texas. This is what we do with our little pocket guns! Too small for anything else!
😯 😀 Now Where’s the Beef!!!

🙄 HE HE, i’ll never understand why GUYS let inexperienced people shoot the BIGGEST, BADDEST handguns out. WHY??? That musta hurt. My wife would kick my ass if i did that to her.

Why is she wearing a top? She got nothing to hide.
The smaller of the two (lol) is a .50-140 Sharps at 2,800-3,000fpe with 535-700 Grain bullets and the larger of the two is a .600 Nitro Express at 8,000-10,000fpe with 900-1040 Grain bullets.

I don’t think it is even legal to break wind in cali! 😯
Tron, what caliber are those TC Contenders? If one is good, then two are better, I always say 😀 Are they a matched set? The pic came up small on my screen and I am having a hard time picking out detail.

Yea not to mention that since it is obviously a black powder revolver (look how thin those cylinder walls are, in comparison to Fastlane61’s .460) if you could manage to keep your eyes open while firing, the recoil would be like a slow car hitting your face, so you would see it coming! LOL!
.. or “ow my penis is stuck syndrome.” Oh.. wait, wrong forum.

Yes, contenders are legal to buy, own, and sell in CA.
CA has an “approved handgun list” which the TC is not on. There is an exemption for single shot pistols, but not every FFL knows about it.
If you want to browse CA firearms laws:

Big bore doesn’t have to mean big recoil. I shoot .50BMGS and they don’t recoil hardly at all so long as you have a really good muzzlebrake. The brake is more effective with a shorter barrel, but you are trading recoil for concussive noise.
Similar thing with compensated semi-auto pistols. Less recoil with a 9mm “open division” pistol than a production pistol shooting the same 124 gr bullet at 1050 ft/sec, compared to 1400 ft/sec wih the open gun. The compensator has a bunch of gas to work with.
