Q:

Tony AAA

Finally arrived . . . took it out today. The .25 was worth every second waited & every penny spent! Awesome air rifle! After sight-in, consistently hit or made shotgun hulls dance out to 100 yards. I’m pleased & Tony is great to deal with. Now I’ll do some cosmetic work on the SS.

Interesting. How come I ‘m getting 908-920fps (at least first 10-15 shots) with .22 31gr Eleys (58fpe) at the lowest possible setting with the power wheel turned down all the way at 2700psi? Is this caused by the combination of the (unmodified) hi-flow valve and heavier hammer? At power setting 4 the 31gr go >1,000fps so I just leave it at 1 most of the time so the report remains reasonably low/quiet.

I haven’t chrony’d it yet, but the test target & chrony string Tony sent was 936-973 (mid-string)-950 fps over 20 shots with 31-grain Kodiaks at a 9.5 power wheel setting on a 3000 psi fill. I’m big into accuracy & not so much so relative to velocity. The rifle seems to like fills in the 2700-2800 psi range, which certainly works for me. It IS accurate & hits like a ton of bricks.

So what kind of velocity you getting out of the 21″ .25?

Nice rifles there, love the colour on em.

Next ones, I’ll use a hole punch or devise a cutter I can chuck-up so the holes will be more aligned, put 2 straps on, and finish the edges of the leather (laced edges would look good). I want to use these for a spell to see how they hold-up.

nice work.

Got tired of losing pellets out of a Phillips holder, so built a couple prototypes for .22 & .25. Backing is a thick piece of Latigo leather, strap is a Velcro wrap (wish it were a tad longer), and holder is a piece cut from one of those gray, snap-together shop mats. Punched the holes with a leather punch & pulled out the plugs with a hemostat, then glued to the leather with contact cement & sealed the edges with Gorilla glue. Cut/punched the strap slots & camoed with a black Marksalot. Someday I’ll make a finished version that’s all uniform, purdy, & such, but I haven’t lost a pellet yet since using these.

hello koja48…

can you put some photos of the pellet holder

That grip and stock look similar to the ones steve makes. That is the next thing on my list for sure!

Had Tony shorten the barrel to 21″ . . . stock & grip are also ala Tony. The man does EXCEPTIONAL work! T is an airgun artist.

Jim, Is that a full 24″ bbl. and shroud ? If so, it doesn’t look so long with the fore stock you have on it! In fact, looks good! 😀 Where do those stocks come from?
