Q:

What can your STOCK TALON SS do?

I was farting around tonight after having realized my barrel had seen 500+ rounds and after cleaning and getting the grouping back in line I decided to test myself.

I started at 30 yards and found no challenge. 40 yards was the same. 50 yards I was hitting a French’s Mustard bottle (plastic) every time where I wanted. 50 yards was a Pam Spray can and it proved to be no problem as well. 60 yards and a Diet Rite can was nothing but swiss cheese. Every time. I got brave and went out to 70 yards and still, Pam had no chance. After that, I decided that I’d go for broke and attempted to shoot my STOCK TSS at 85 yards. I was shooting at the Pam Spray can.

I hit it first shot, second shot and indeed third shot. None broke the can but they all left a dent.

I’m not claiming to be a “sniper” but I’m curious as to what other stock TSS’ers can do.

Before anyone asks, I was on my bench with an Airforce Bipod using 15.8 gr. (measured) JSB exacts.

So, what can you do with your Stock Talon SS?

HOLY HELL !!!!! 5 inch group at 1 yard ? ? ? I think at 50 yds I’d be afraid of killing someone standing behind me……. Your poor poor wife….. 😆 😆 😆 😆

Yellow ninja and i was shooting cokecans at 80+ yard standing no support, and was hitting more often than not !

paintballs…i just love shooting those…only way to have a false positive is when you hit in front of it and pellet bounces in to the ball anyway…

small floorhockey balls rigid plastic with holes in it about 3″ diameter…great fun too…get it to roll around and compete with your buddies who can hit it first and the most

LOL 😆

OK, ok, so i lied.

I’m getting 5 inch groups at 1 yard. Not sure if i’m holding the rifle round the right way though… Wife who stands behind me to spot while i’m shooting keeps complaining about flesh wounds each time i fire….??

What? thats the best your getting? if you want a real challenge try shooting rocks on the moon

I tried that once but got tired of waiting for the pellet to strike. 😀

Hmmm lets see the moon is 221,463 miles from earth at it’s closest, and the Talon SS is capable of lets say 800 feet per second. A mile is 5280 feet………………………….Just kidding.

ok, so I’m bored today….

221,463 is 1,169,324,640 feet
at 800 FPS
so it would take… carry the 1….
1,461,655.8 seconds
or 406.02 hours
or 16.92 days

chairgun won’t go out that far, but I’m assuming there wouldn’t be that much energy left. and your hold over would have to be tremendous

I’m gettin 1 inch groups, firing from the UK and hitting the target in China. Reckon about 400,000 yards, though my range finder struggles with the curvature of the earth…. 😆

My rangefinder bounces off Telsat. And cool stuff.

This is what mine could do

Just ignore the 10 meter part 😆

I hear you, pal. I really like the 18″ barrels, keeps the overall length the same, but really bumps the power level, and I think it improves the balance a LOT! Noisier, but as I’ve said before, that’s not really an issue for me. Later.

I am Dave.

It has had it’s moments of frustration but when I do things correctly it’s pretty damn cool.

I can surely see an 18″ barrel in my future though. Heheheh.

Was that far enough away :-)? I pop paint balls with mine at 45 yards, haven’t gotten around to trying anything longer yet. Of course, mine isn’t exactly a TSS anymore. Sounds like yours is treating you good, Greg. Later.

Dave

Awesome Fellas!!

I knew I wasn’t alone!
