Top Hat Questions
So I was adjusting the top hat last night and have 2 questions.
1) Should you take the top hat screws completly off? I loosed them but kept them on by my top hat would only adjust down to about .065 is this normal? FYI it came from factory at .12
2) On the top of the top hat is a little hole, im guessing where the air comes out. When adjusting the tophat from .12 to .07 it makes something stick out of the hole a little bit, and not flush or slightly inside like it was when it was set to .12 Is this normal and is this ok?

It sounds like you have a high spot on the valve stem caused by the set screws. This may be why you can’t screw the top hat down to less than .065. Try loosening the set screws further and maybe a slight assist from the allen key in one screw. The TH should adjust lower than .065.
It might be worth removing the TH completely (just unscrew it) and inspecting the valve stem both visually and tactilly (look at iy and FEEL it; your fingertips are more sensative than your eyes at times. If you see or feel any roughness, gently smooth the area with emory paper, then polish.
