Variable power – what is first?
I recently had an issue with my tophat at the tank was dumping. That I managed to correct. Now when I shoot the Condor I got 3 or 4 nice shoots and then 1 very powerful and louder shot. This happened repeatedly over about a 20 shot spread.
Now before I start working on the gun for the first time ever, what is the first thing that I should look at? I didn’t have the chrony hooked up but you could sure tell that about 1 out of 4 shots were very powerful. I have the power wheel on 6 and shooting the Crosman .20 14.3gr..
Please just tell what the first thing I should be checking on is.

I understand now. It just took a few shoots to get the pressure down before the gun settled down. I guess now it’s time to pull out the chrony to see what kind of numbers I am getting. Man this gun hits hard on power #8. I was shooting the steel pellet trap at 45 ft and it was really giving it a whack for sure.. I think I am really going to like this gun once I understand how it works..haha
What Tony meant is if you are filling to 2800 psi, only fill to 2700 psi. I’ve seen posts of the condors liking 26-2700 psi range in the tank.

I have set the power wheel to 8 and for the first 6 or 7 shots I had the same problem and then for about the last 25 shots the Condor seems to be shooting consistently. I still have the chrony set up but the problem did go away. I don’t know what you mean when you say to change the psi by 100..
Would the tophat adjustment have anything to do with the erratic firing cycle I first experienced..
Move your PW to 8 and decrease your fill 100PSI…

The only thing I can think of that might cause that is if you’re firing shots quite quickly and getting a bit of a freeze in the valve, causing a mini dump of air. 😕
