ok, so i just got this useless pile of plastic and metal,
so now what do i have to get???
I ordered a talon SS from pyramidair.
I didn’t realize it didn’t come with anything to put air into it though, silly me, thinking I’d get something useful 👿
so I have a Axsor pump with a QC connection on it.
I do have a SCUBA tank, but currently don’t have a place to fill it.
what ELSE do I need to order to make this something other then useless POS?

I am sorry to sound rude, but that is sometimes what you get when you order a gun sight unseen.
When I bought my Talon SS(Betty), I traveled 2.5 hours to Long Island. Test fired the gun asked all kinds of questions. Met some guys that are in a Talon shooting club.(One of whom offered to bore sight my Talon.) I left Happy with a new gun, pump, fill adapter, pellets and scope.
As far as I am concerned this is the best gun I have owned so far.
It works, his name is Tom Gaylord the human chronograph 😆
it also came in today, put Teflon tape on all the connections, checked all o-rings and seals, pumped up the gun and …. it still leaks air, so it’s a bad Talon tank.
I’m on the phone with PA customer disservice right now, getting an RMA number to send it all back to them.
it may be a nice gun for some people, but it’s just an expensive pile of scrap metal to me
ba-bye
I don’t remember seeing a complaint section? The talons a great gun I’d count to ten and try it again!
😉
That is why my next airgun purchase will either be used or from a highly recommended place.
I recently ordered an airgun from PA. It arrived without fill adapters. I emailed PA tech support to ensure I ordered the correct one. Its been three weeks with no answer… I gave up and ordered it in England. You would think that if you spend more than $1000 they would give you everything you need to begin shooting… and if they don’t you would expect a prompt and courteous reply. Anyway… its on its way from England.
ok then, since i didn’t trust PA from the get go, when i spoke with them earlier in the week I called AOA and ordered the U1010 from them.

OK … 1,2,3,4,5,6,7…..
deep relaxing breath …….
just off the phone with Stacy a tech at PA who was involved with the … mess
she said, oh we built that adapter to hook directly into an FX hand pump hose…. 👿 remember deep relaxing breaths…. 😡 I said, why???? I ordered a Axsor hand pump, and a PYQuick12FPB quick disconnect????
she said oops. 😯 I guess I should have looked at your setup before making it and shipping it out. 🙄 YA THINK??????????????
yup, these people have had their heads permanently mounted so far up their ass, they’ll never see daylight.
she puts me on hold, then comes back after a couple of minutes saying, hey, looky what I found, an AFU1010 that will work with your exact configuration. She said she will overnight it along with a couple of extra o-rings, free of charge.
we’ll see, I don’t have a lot of faith in them right about now for some reason.
Could you take a picture of everything you have. And close ups of the adapter you got from PA?
there is a gap between the 2 pieces of metal where an compression fit washer is just jingling around not really touching anything. it’s probably leaking from there, BUT YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A GUNSMITH NOT COMPLETELY HIGH ON DRUGS WOULD HAVE NOTICED THIS???????????????
the wife has the camera, so I can’t do anything now
Try PA under Accessories-Air Force- part number AFU1009. This is the adapter that goes between a 1/4″ thread and the tank and it listed in stock. Is this what you are looking for or am I missing something.
Abe
that’s only half of it,
the real part is AFU1010, which is back ordered
so the gunsmith there, made me the other piece I need to make a 1009 into a 1010
AFU – must mean ALL FUCKED UP!!!
I think it’s the actual tank that’s leaking though
You need to make sure the O-rings are the proper size, I believe that is the only place it could leak from, unless there is a crack in the metal.

OK, so this has become so far from fun it’s ridiculous 😈 😈 😈
I got the CNC’d piece from PA, hooked everything up and…… it leaks like a fat man eating beans and beer. 😯
I AM SOOOOO not happy 😡
I’m trying to give it time before calling PA and physically pulling their head out of their ass. unfortunately I’m starting to think that it’s been super glued in there.
I’ve got a real adapter on it’s way from AOA, but it’s been my experience that AOA doesn’t ship for several days, then they give it to some bicycle courier to deliver.
just to make sure I’m doing this right (did I mention that the CD shipped with the gun doesn’t work? all’s you here for audio is crackling and hissing) 🙄 would someone here tell me EXACTLY how to fill this POS from a hand pump?
TIA,
Mike
no it doesn’t help.
I read and reread and there’s an option for with a SCUBA clamp and other options, BUT NO adapter. I asked the salesperson about this when I called and she confirmed there’s no option with just a refill adapter, because they assume you’ll either be ordering the airforce hand pump or the SCUBA clamp, but if you have another pump, or already have another SCUBA clamp, then you’re SOL, and have to know enough to order individually.
If I’m wrong and going blind, please cut and paste the link and I will humbly apologize.
Oh brother, PA can be so densse sometimes. If the gun does not come with an adapter they should list it.
I went through the same thing with them when I ordered my career. While my career came with a fill adapter, the fill adapter need and adapter to work…LOL. After ordering the gun online and asked if this other adapter was needed, they told me yes and I would have to purchase it. I let her have it telling her a simple sentence stating “This additional adapter is need to fill your gun” would save people a lot of headaches.
I have heard this story over and over when a purchase is made from PA. A guy gets his gun and can not use it because they never let him know a mandatory adapter is not included and has to be purchased separately. Of course once PA was made known this information is needed by they purchaser they promptly ignored this information and never changed their site….. All we ask is they know what they are selling and what the customer needs to use it.

The CD was a DVD with mine. I didn’t try putting it in a CD player to see how it sounded.
I agree, it’s very confusing what type of adapter to get. If you go to the bottom of Accessories under PA’s site, the QD connector doesn’t say what size it is. WTF? Is it 1/8? 1/4? Something else? And my experience is that you need them seal type flat washers. It’s not necessary to use Teflon tape.
