Another Dumb Question.
How hard would it be, to weld some kind of plate on the butt of the tank that has that treaded thingy on the end for a more stable butt plate? Instead of that plastic disk that has already cracked on mine.

If you take the tank sock off (took a little work, but slid back on no problem.) you will find a lame ass plastic disk.

Take off the rubber cover, and you will understand what we are talking about.

Maybe some kinda cup that fit snug like the sock does with the threaded thingy.(if someone knows what it is called………..) that would be much more stable. do all the tanks share the same O.D.?
instead of attaching to the tank directly, maybe just get an aluminum disk made to replace the plastic one. Myself or others here could probably help.
I have a wokbutt already, but with that plastic disk it just wobbles all over the place.
He didn’t ask if he should or should not. He asked how hard it would be. But i agree, just get a wokbutt with hose clamps.
You don’t want to weld anything to the tank. Get a Wokbutt or Morgan butt pad.
The tank is 6061 aluminum, which means it is weldable. You would need to use either a TIG or MIG welder. Have fun 😀

Got it 🙄 It’s there to make the end of the tank square. Maybe epoxy to hold it in place?
