Q:

Nebraska Airgun Shooter (NAGS) Fun Shoot for September 2008.

We are at it again with our second Fun Shoot Scheduled for September 27th, 2008. The Fun Shoot will begin with setup at 8:00 AM and the shooting to begin at 9:00 AM. Our rain date this shoot will be October 4th, 2008.

Our first Fun Shoot was a huge success. We had a total of 36 shooters in attendance including 8 juniors. There was something to offer all of the shooters, from spinners to 100 yard dinger targets.

For our second shoot we will have are adding some exciting shooting for those of you who care to test your skills in the heat of competition.

There will be pistol competition in the form of a 10 meter challenge. Not the normal 10 meter match and is designed to be fun.

Pistol silhouette shooting. Come and try the silhouette shooting and really test your skills. http://www.obrpc.org/air_pistol/airpist_reg.htm

We also plan on having 25 yd bench competition. We will follow the Airgun Bench Rest rules for the 25 yd completion http://airgunbenchrest.com/ and will be using the official target http://airgunbenchrest.com/pdf-files/airgun_benchrest_full_target.pdf

The last of the competitions will be the 50 yd bench competition and we will be following the following rules… http://www.airguns.net/comp_br50.php

We will also have the 100 yd dinger target set up for those of you with the keen eye and skill to take home the bragging rights trophy. We will be giving out certificates for the first three placing in each event. This will not slow down the pace for those of you just out for a good time Fun Shooting as the competition shooting and the Fun Shoot will be going on at the same time.. It would be a good idea for all shooters to bring along their own shooting benches or tables.

The Fun Shoot aspect will be the same format as our first shoot. Please bring out all your guns to shoot and let the others see many guns that they have never had a chance to see before. Our first shoot had many difference type of guns there that I did not have the opportunity to try out and I would be really like to see them again.

We will once again be incorporating a swap meet into the Fun Shoot. This is not limited to just airguns. Bring just about anything to the shoot that you would like to sell trade or swap. Please bring your own table if you are going to have items up for display.

There will be a break in the shooting around 1:00 PM to take time to grab a bite to eat and be able to get a little socializing in.. We will recommence shooting after a 1 hour break or so…

We will have a small catering service that will be providing food and drinks for a fee. They are not out to make money with this service and the food and drinks will pretty much be sold at their cost. A club member is providing this service.

We will have a “Port o Potty” for all to use.. We will have to be collecting and an equal amount of money from everyone to cover the cost to the facility.

I will once again be offering to give you directions provided by Google. All I need is your starting point of departure and I will forward you the directions.

We will not have access to the house, although we will have a garden hose with water to drink and wash in. Everyone needs to bring whatever they might need for their own personal use.

Bring your own food and drinks, coolers, bug spray, guns, ammo, targets, etc…

NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED! NO EXCEPTIONS!

NO FIREARMS WILL BE SHOT….AIRGUNS ONLY

Use pellet guns and BB guns only…

NO AIRSOFT GUNS !

Expect target ranges to be 5 meters, out to 100 yards. There will be something there for everyone. We encourage you to allow others to examine and even shoot your airguns.
We will all have the chance to see and shoot airguns we have only heard about or seen in pictures.

I had a request that someone would like to bring their dog. I think that should be discouraged. Mike and Erica have small goats, a horse, and dogs, and we don’t need to worry about strange dogs bothering them. I think this is good from another point…..when animals get together, they often spread sickness. We don’t need that at all.
Also, if we have trade goods on the ground, I’d hate to see dog damage something.

NO DOGS OR PETS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED !

I will be sending remembers as the month goes by.

There may be informal information or chat about the fun shoot posted on http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/. You do not have to be a member to read this forum. We found this forum a useful tool to spread the informal word about our last shot. Please check it frequently.

Once again…Let’s start this at 8:00 AM for the set up and begin the Fun Shoot at 9:00 AM. That is 9:00 in the morning folks.

Ending time????? Don’t know right now. When we run out of ammo or targets?????
