What do you think is a good chrony to buy? Seen one you stick the mussel in the tube.

Do you like the seperate readout? Do you think there is an advantage to it over being on the unit? Like the sun not washing it out.

Yeah, definitely. It has like a 20′ cable, so you can position it anywhere that is convenient for you. When you are done, you can disconnect that cable and replace it with a short one, connected to a 9v battery, so you just take the readout box with you to your computer or whatever. That way you don’t disturb your sensor setup.

Is the CED M2 overkill?

I’ve got the Prochrono digital, and very pleased with it. They sell a separate remote with a 20-foot cable which allows you to download all shot data into you PC using Windows.

I bought mine at Midway last year, just keep an eye out for it to go on sale.

I have the beta master and think it is good. It will record 6 groups of 10 shots and keep the memory. This is plenty for me. The only gripe I have is not being able to upload the data directly to a software program. I guess they make a kit and cable that will enable you to do this, but it is over-pricced, IMO.

I was going to buy just the cable and write my own program to deal with the data, but that’s one of those low priority back-burner plans I will probably never get around to doing.

I’ve had the Green Chrony F1 for several years now, very happy with it.
if you need shot memory, you want to go with the Red F1
