Trapper in need
I am looking for some help from those of you know this sport and your rifles.
I own a trapping company in Maryland and have secured a contract to rid Yotes. “non-firearm” method is to be used along with trapping.
I researched the air gun and spoke to Tony. I tried to buy Mavericks gun but missed it. I almost bought a super swift but the 22 cal. I was told was to small.
I understand some guys here build some very powerful guns. I am wide open to advice and or willing to buy one. Tony is backed up for months.
I should have just sent him the deposit. My fault. but the contract was not secured at the time.

I agree with the 9mm Ultra. Mine puts out over 130 fpe, more than .22 LR and surely lots of coyotes are killed with .22s every year. Very accurate out to 75 yards, further if you know the range well.
It’s also nice to have 5 more shots in the mag. If I was after one, I’d leave the Condor (and other single shots) at home. And the .25 Sumatra which is also a six shot repeater and take that big heavy Korean gun….

for airguns vs. coyotes, i would go with one of the Korean guns like the 9mm Career ultra, 6 shot lever action airgun.
Are you saying you are looking for something to kill them once they’ve been trapped, or that you want something to hunt them with?
If it’s for hunting, you could get a big bore, (9mm, 45, etc) and that would work perfect. 25 would probably also work, just require better shot placement. For hunting a good 25 cal is probably as low as I would go.

When talking Korean guns (since they are the most readily available)
a 9mm could be your best bet. Higher velocity out of the box than a .45 and just about right in diameter to avoid excessive damage to pelts.
If you have any interest in the condition of the pelts; the SamYang .45 is looking to be a little “excessive” on coyote for anything but a full-frontal shot from my experience shooting critters with a 909 modded to about 260fpe with a 155grain SWC. I’ll get an exit no matter what slug/ball I use.
I think the .45 is just to large a diameter to be reliably fur-friendly on the exit thus far. I’ll know more when it gets cold out, and the pelts are prime.
Now if your only concern is to see the coyotes dead as doornails, the 909 will knock the snot out of them, and can’t be beat for Korean guns if you get it tuned-up.
If you get a 909S (single tube version) I know a guy that will tune it for you to about 270fpe (909S is easier to modify for absolute power than the 2tube version) and smooth out the trigger. He gets about 210fpe out of the 2tube version.
