Q:

Butcher, do you have your 909 up and shooting?

I was wondering if you had a chance to shoot the Raptors that Tofazfou sent you? I figured if they shot well, you might need some more to go Elk hunting! 😀 HaHa!

I actually meant to post here…good thing I have back-up!

I think Jim may have returned to Wyoming this weekend to use-up those .308 slugs you sent him on the P-Dog population. I’m sure he’ll send it back ASAP especially after my ordeal this week involving a shotgun-wielding lunatic.

Yes it was 😛

The thread was moved here from the general section right after I posted.

I’m glad you noticed how well made the Raptors were/are. The boys take pride in only sending out near perfect slugs…

This will likely get moved to the “Other Guns” section pretty soon, so look for this thread there.
Yes the 909 is back in action. It is still in Colorado, and should be on it’s way back anyday now.
I did shoot the Raptors at the Shiloh hunt in May: they seemed to work well, and I must say I’ve never seen such immaculate cast slugs. I was having scope-adjustment issues at the time, and had not shot my rifle in a spell.
I got back in the rifle’s groove on my trip to Colorado/Wyoming earlier this month, and did my best shooting ever with it.
One hole groups at 50 yards, and nailing my coffee-cup sized target three times in a row at 80 yards off the steady-stix. I even removed a jack-rabbit’s brain at about 40 yards offhand! I had not done much off-hand shooting before; the balance of the 2tube 909 makes it kinda easy!
This was all witnessed by JimF. So you could say I have a lot of confidence in the capabilities of this gun.
So I will be ordering some more Raptors to do controlled testing with pretty soon. I will be sure to have a camera to document the results with.
