Another pellet drop question…
I’m ordering a 24″ .25 barrel from Tony. My question is, at how many yrds would I see significant pellet drop with the .25 Kodiak with 24″ barrel as opposed to a .22 Kodiak in 18″ barrel in the same gun, same settings. In other words, which cal, barrel would shoot flatter, longer, 18″/.22 or 24″/25?

Thanks for your input guys. For the first time I was checking out .25 cal pellets. I’m thinking the Kodiaks will be my main pellet to use. I noticed there are 2 Kodiaks to choose from, regular ones, and the “Match” ones, which are supposed to be better. Anyone try the match Kodiaks, and if you have, are they worth the extra bucks?
Also, my gun is a SS, I’m hoping for around 840/850 fps, (30.7 gr) wondering if this sounds about right…

when I switched from .22 to .25 (both 24″ barrels) I found about 6″ less drop at 100yds with the .25 vs the .22; both shooting Kodiacs at 950-1000 fps.
The .25 outpreforms a .22 in the same length so it will defintly out preform an 18″ in .22
The .25 bore alone allows the air to transfer more energy to the pellet, the pellets are heavier so they carry that energy better (Higher BC). Also, because the pellets are heavier, wind and velocity differences between shots don’t have as great an effect so your groups should also tighten up and you can shoot more shots per fill before POI changes.

Mine was an SS too. I got a heavier hammer and condor tank; but with just the heavier hammer and valve modded talon tank I’m getting 875 – 925 fps w/ the 30.* kodiacs.
